Melissa, I started machine embroidery in 2015 and yours were some of the first designs I purchased. They gave me the confidence to master ITH designs and even create some of my own. I love your idea to teach classes at sewing shops, that is also how I learned this hobby. I attended a couple of excellent classes taught by a rep from AG of out of Charlotte, NC. She gave us three projects to stitch out using different techniques and provided a workbook to take with us. There is nothing better than in-person instruction for learning and having fun with others who enjoy machine embroidery. The shops in my area (Raleigh, NC) are always looking for people to teach classes because of course it gets people into their shops to buy machines, so if you are able to travel and are interested, I can give you the names and contacts. I'd definitely attend your class and even help you if you needed an assistant! Best of luck on your new journey, which I'll continue to follow with great interest.

I was self employed selling finished ITH designs for a few years. After awhile, I wanted to have coworkers again. I went back to my former career and have never regretted it. I craft on the weekends and have 1 or 2 orders a week. I have a sewing and crafting room but I prefer to work in the living area. All this to say that I completely understand your feelings.

Here's a secret: I applied for a part-time job in retail last week!! Just a couple of days a week to be out there with a routine, working in retail (which I love) in a small place with a couple of coworkers and the general public. I'm actually excited! 💜

Love this! I wish I lived closer to you. I’d love to take classes from you and then I could become your helper lol! I feel like with your personality, you’re one I could actually learn digitizing from! I’ll have to see if my shop would let you do classes! I look forward to seeing what things you come up with and hopefully I can attend some classes when you do them.

Thank you Kristy! Definitely email me any information you think would be helpful. I don't have the resources right now to rent out my own space out of town (like a hotel conference room) but if a sewing shop or dealer would host me, that's where I'm trying to start! 💜

Hugs Melissa! We love you! Maybe you could do some digitizing teaching. Go places to teach it for 2-4 days. Pick a different state each month, find hotels that are near airports/train stations and teach. There is such a great demand for this. You went to POP's classes 2 years ago, hook up with Jen. She uses her squad to help with functions, too. She had classes where the items weren't released for a year after the class.
