Here to say thank you! 11 years later, your vid helped me decide to look at a 1525 for sale not too far from me. If all goes well I'll have my first vintage machine. 🧵

kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoGkqLVycrTQpsY.htmlfeature=shared This gives a tutorial on how to use this machine for anyone still looking. Also, a link to a manual should come up if you look up "dressmaker s-2402". I believe someone finally found one and figured out how to get it online. I just found my mom's in the attic and came across the information. I don't sew, yet, so apologies if this doesn't help everyone with everything. Otherwise, happy sewing.

I just picked up one of these, but didn't get the manual and can't find it anywhere. You mentioned in the video that you have it in PDF format - could I get a copy, please? Thanks!

Hi Rayana, Thank you for the video. I just picked one up at a thrift store and it looks to be in excellent shape and it weighs a ton! It did not come with a manual and I would like to know how to properly thread it. Can you help? Thank you.

Rayna, I have my moms machine. I am a man. It is a Kenmore Stylist 86. It was doing great. I had it tuned up a few years ago. BUT I hit a blue jean seam and it made a thud. And it seems to drag now and the bobbin thread bird nests. I don't know where to begin checking. Do you have any thoughts ? I love this machine. My mom taught me how to repair my old work jeans. I am a mechanical engineer and I have no intention of junking it. I see my mom when I use it. Richard

Thank you for this video! We have one of these in our workshop and I was very confused about how to sew non-stretch fabric with it. I did not realize the thing with the red dot vs white dot. Whoohoo! You're the only youtube video even talking about the 16600.

I inherited mine from my mother 30 years ago. She even had all the accessories and I love sewing with it. Fortunately for me it is not in a case but in it's own table.

Hi, I know you made this video years ago, but I'm trying to use mine which is the exact model. How do I set it up to do a basting stitch? I want to gather some material. There is a simple manual online with several languages, but it doesn't show how.

Very nice demo, covered all the main points. Very impressive on the 6 layers of denim, wow!! I wish you had given us a closeup of the stitches, I was so curious to see the quality close up. These videos go far beyond the sale of the machine. They are a database of knowledge to compare other machines too, so please keep that in mind and do a comprehensive review. The video will live on for years past our own lives and help promote use and purchase of all vintage machines. Ebay cannot control whether you demo this on KZread or sell on KZread. In fact, this promotes Ebay business. One thing too, make digital high quality copies of all the manuals. Sell them for $5 each and make another income stream. We are in dire need of vintage manuals. How much did this sell for on ebay? Its so far back I am sure this is sold by now.

The 158.1515 s a very good, strong, low shank, machine with an all metal drive train and aluminium body. The only plastic is the knobs. It uses single level type C cams with one exception. There is a special reverse cam #121 that is specific to this machine only. The #121 reversing cam produces tripple straight and zig zag stitches using the width dial. It is an impressive super strong stitch built in to some Kenomores like the 1914.
