  I like many other commentators love this musical work, and have done so for over 60 years. This is a remarkable performance, imo in true concertante style, and played with such energy. Above all, I think the greatest credit must go to Mozart, because without him, these players could not have shown their combined talent. The cadenza was absolutely stunning.

  Votre interprétation à l'accordéon de Rhapsody in blue est sublime ! Elle rivalise même avec l'interprétation d'un grand orchestre. Tout y est, mise en place, nuances et cette richesse sonore parfaite et unique ! Un très grand bravo à vous.

  Można rzec, że dwaj polscy tenorzy są w światowej czołówce . Pierwszy, jak dotąd, nieprześcigniony Jan Kiepura , drugi Piotr Beczała, a dalej to już , nie wnikając w kolejność Pavarotti, Carreras itd. Brawa dla Polaków.

  Me either - and it’s not the only time a classical singer has sung something SUS. In Donna McKevitt’s song cycle Translucence, Michael Chance sings about Adam giving a BJ to Eve (kzread.info/dash/bejne/kaOs06OkZsm4ndY.htmlfeature=shared)! A! BJ! It’s one reason why the first CD got a parental advisory label back in 1998! It was so shocking and funny, given that he’s second to his son Alexander as my favorite countertenor!

  Had I bought a portable CD player and the reissue by Dharma Records when it came out in 2004 during my freshman year in HS, I would’ve been seated with the popular kids, who would be listening to songs with MUCH raunchier lyrics anyway. (The elder Chance was my absolute favorite countertenor at that time, BTW.)

  Rubato and Bach have a very complicated relationship - far more complicated than many artists, even some very good ones, ever come to realize. The easy way to go about it would be to simply study someone like Gould (for piano) or Rostropovitch (for cello) or Menuhin (in this case) and mimic his timing, and that would keep you within bounds. Some artists (including at least one highly respected cellist I can think of) choose to go their own route, and get it wrong. Your rendering of this piece uses, at times, pretty extreme rubato which I would have though could not work - but it seems that your understanding of the piece is sufficiently good that you find a path which is surprising and certainly innovative, but more importantly, actually works. Very enjoyable rendition.

  Two personalities here that I feel certain mozart envisaged when he wrote this joyous concerto (sinfonia concertante). So good to watch you together and hear that joy. It is truly a joy to play!

  Maybe this is a silly question. As this is a recording and not a public performance, why do all the orchestra members worn black clothes? They still worn casual outfits, but always black. There's a reason for that? Maybe is less distracting? Or just because there's a camera around?
