    Another idea would be to nip the upper corner at a (45) that makes contact with the arbor on the left fence,and something similar on the right fence. This way you could keep the fence intact and still use the stop pins. I don’t own a Kizen YET but have been looking at these for some time. What a great upgrade attachment for the miter saw❤

    Thank you, Tom. Do you have any thoughts on making a meter fence for the Kapex 60? I am planning on purchasing the Kizen fence for my Kapex 120, and I am curious to know how the one pin can hold crown molding in a nested position, when there’s a potential of 16 feet off to the left or to the right of the blade. Thank you again for your video and dedication to the trade. Jn. 3:36

    I started with 1/2” Baltic birch fence and used a nail and had no problems cutting 16’ crown moulding. I could screw stops where I needed. After replacing a few times came the idea of the t-slot with 5mm shelf pins. The current version can handle factory fences 3.5” tall. Which is most 10”-15” miter saws. Still playing with the idea to making a shorter version. I do have a earlier video cutting 16’ crown

    To saying one is better than the other. Some mouldings definitely need to lay flat which also take more time to change between cuts. When that happens I use 2 mitersaw setups. Example 12” cove crown. It’s not flat How do you cut it?

    Doesn’t the addition of the new fence plate mean that the axis of the table now does not line up with the back of your material? That seems undesirable for some cuts…

  • @KizenEnterprise
    @KizenEnterprise8 ай бұрын

    I was taught using 1/2” Baltic Birch on the factory fence. Yes it changes your axis. If you do use that system just add whatever thickness you’re using on the factory fence and no need to remove it :)

    That’s a great way to rip tendons in your wrist m8. Don’t ever use a root cutter auger without a side handle on your drill… your auger might be good at cutting roots , but torque is torque and sudden torque transferred to your wrists doing exactly this will f you up, sometimes permanently .

  • @KizenEnterprise

    The Augie pro is for changing out sprinkler heads. We were answering a question Can it cut small roots? The way it’s designed you will know you hit something like another sprinkler line or a root. The bit will jump up.

    The way I did mine was I put aluminum tape to get both fences square to the table then I checked to see if each Kizen fence was coplaner to each other and added tape as needed. Then I calibrated the table/blade to the fences to get them at exactly 90 when at zero. My 12" DeFault is stupid accurate.

    The kizen mitre fence is attached to the factory fence by drill 2 or 3 holes on the left and right factory fences. There is a t-slot on the back of the KMF. Easy to adjust or remove. I use them on my shophelper wings and others with fastcap. So I don’t believe you will have a problem.

    I have 2 CT26's one being a little older than yours being from 2012 and I replaced the top on that one about 5yrs ago which was actually my fault when it broke but the replacement has tape on it now because it started to crack. The other 26 is from 2015 and I replaced the hose garage on it early 2020. The latest replacement seems to be better plastic but the 5yr mark will tell the real story. Mine get used for on site work and live in work vans and I believe the plastic gets brittle from the temp swings. From a durability standpoint the hose garages are the weak point of the system imo.
