See that’s kinda BS. No matter what emergency happens to me, I’m covered, unless I get fired. However stroke, broken leg, cancer, it’s all covered 100% minus some small copays! I don’t want my taxes to increase to pay others health insurance.

I don’t get it. I pay insurance, just had 5 level neck surgery and it cost me $200. I don’t have deductibles, so I don’t know what those are🤷‍♂️ I had a TIA last year as well, cost me $100. Maybe more people should unionize.

Great points made by Kimberly. Megan Fox (and frankly a lot of Dems) serve to uphold and strengthen the financial death by a thousand cuts "capitalism" which currently exists in this nation.

Love that you are covering such an important topic. My family has very much been affected by the high cost of healthcare and the tethering to jobs. Due to circumstances outside of my control, I had to start buying insurance privately, which is even more expensive. I am currently on a waitlist to get on affordable health insurance, but even that wouldn’t cover my child. It shouldn’t be so expensive. I am thankful for the improvements in access to care that the Affordable Care Act brought, but it’s been in place for over a decade. It’s time for progress!

Loved this conversation.Im still against centralized power. I do know reform is needed but we must be careful otherwise the power in the wrong hands. Personal experience, dear Doc friend couple of yrs (known since organic chem 40 yrs ago)… lost his practice with a partner when govt deman 42:34 ded all digital records. Cost exclusive. Was a hometown Doc following every patient including the hospital. He was bought out. Spends hours every night in “notes” justifying any treatment against what AI dictates or insurance companies dictate. Yes they must do this. No answers but the hands of the moneymakers & honestly centralized power is dangerous????

Great information! Also depressing how more people with power care about money than humanity 😢. I usually am having to pay out of pocket for my mental health evaluations so tax payers don’t even affect my healthcare much. It’s a mess.

If people actually saw how much they are already paying for their health insurance between taxes, premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and so on, it would shock them. I worked in medical billing, and I was surprised at how many people didn't understand how their insurance worked and what it covered.

Same here! I'm a medical coder, so I'm pretty in tune with the healthcare system. With just my premiums and what my employer contributes to my coverage, it's $34,000 a year, before I ever even use it, but when we do use it, we still have huge medical bills. I personally hate being a part of creating them, but I try so hard to be fair and not overcharge the patient.

Also bravo for stabalizing an over 800 score! The only times my score was negatively effected was because of medical bills that I couldnt afford (before covered ca / when i worked part time and went to school, I owed 8k but made $8 and hr 😂) or when my employer insurance lapsed because of being pregnant or sick or having covid, or kids sick or had covid etc, in the last 4 years, if I didnt work 40 hours, maybe one a year, my insurance would lapse and I had to pay for what caused me to miss in the first place out of pocket. I have one more medical bill im still paying off from that time 🥴

Great interview! I like the notion that nothing is free, and changing the verbage dies speak to the tax payers in all of us. Were funding the programs, we the public are electing the public servants. We should be better informed, information is power. Thank you for the information!

We simply need smaller government, much less taxing every move made with our money. Our republic wasn't set up to be that way. We need to move back to our founding fathers. The only people getting rich is the players in goverment. They use to say if your in goverment and your getting rich. Its because your corrupt! They are looking out for their interest and none of ours. Yet they are all millionaires these days, by taking our tax dollars.

My sister and I both have PCOS, and we both lost our right ovary due to cysts. My sister and her husband are going through IVF. The Dr retrieved 23 eggs, but only 9 were ready for fertilization. They fertilized all 9, but only 5 showed signs of growth. After 1 week and genetic testing, only 1 is viable. They are doing implantation in October. We are praying so hard for this 1 little embryo! They know the gender and have already picked out a name. My husband and I have decided not to do IVF for several reasons, but we are so excited and supportive of my sister and brother in law's journey.

Kelly, the pain that you feel from surgery is nothing compared to the lifetime of pain you've had!! Once they take all the ick out, you're going to feel so much better!!! It does take months to get back to your full self for real!! I realize that now that this aired, you've already had surgery. Give yourself time to heal, & don't push it! Be nice to yourself!! You got this even when it hurts right now! I do feel like I wish someone told me that once they take both ovaries that i could really have a lot of other issues. For example, they told me to take calcium and D3, but I was dumb and didn't listen. Two years later, I SHRUNK an inch and a half!!! So take the silly vitamins! Also, when you don't have the estrogen from your ovaries you can end up having other issues such as urinary incontinence. The treatment was estrogen. I was TERRIFIED to take add back estrogen since that can cause the endometriosis grow again! So I waited forever to take it, but I'm glad I ended up taking it. It helped a TON!! I hope you're doing well!!! I wish you the best! ❤❤❤❤

I feel like I was a little negative about the side effects. I didn't want to scare you, but they are possibilities that did happen to me. But, what I didn't tell you are the MAJOR benefits: 1 the pain that I suffered from daily is no longer there! 2. I don't feel crazy anymore having to try to get doctors to believe that what I am dealing with is real 3. Also a super huge one: (7 years out) I ONLY HAVE TO SHAVE ABOUT ONCE PER YEAR NOW!!!!!! It's the best!! One other warning: your hair thins on your head. I started taking probiotics prior to surgery bc my gyne told me to for GI issues. But that plus biotin have really helped a lot! I didn't have a ton of hair to begin with, but I'll take rarely, if ever, having to shave my legs and such and FAR LESS PAIN over a full head of hair!

Good luck Kelly!! I am so proud of you for getting through this story so well! You're so strong!! You're going to be a great mom!!!! I lived all of this! I had endometritis since I was 12! At that time, the doctor told me that she assumed I probably had it, and I probably wouldn't be able to have kids. You can't even process that at 12! I was in chronic pain, and had so many procedures and feeling of internal tearing randomly through my teens and twenties that I had to randomly be on actual narcotic pain meds. I wasn't fully diagnosed with it though until I was in so much pain and had over 15 other procedures before they finally did the one test to "officially" diagnose! But by the time i was 27, I knew that i had PCOS & endo! Then, I had so many more surgeries to clean out the scar tissue, fibroids, and ovarian cysts. I met my husband at 32 & he didn't even want to try till we got married. We did IVF at 35. But they could only get 7 eggs, and only 5 were viable. 20:00 they do what's called "wash the sperm" where they actually go through them to remove the bad ones the ones with two tails, the non-swimmers, etc. But, we tried ivf twice. The first time, they put in one embryo & I got pregnant!! I was never more happy!!! But, 15 weeks later, she died, and I died inside. We didn't know how to grieve together. It was so painful. We tried therapy individually and together, but it didn't help much. Then, the doctor told me we had to try again within the next cycle. We tried with the rest of our embryos but it didn't work. I couldn't try again, and he blamed me. I ended up getting a hysterectomy and a couple of months later, his dad died. We couldn't get through that. It was so hard! But, almost three years later, we're finally almost divorce bc things got very very dark for a long time. I'm finally doing much better. But I'll forever have this pain of loss of my little Sophia who didn't make it into this world!
