    as a bird mama, it’s extremely important to have nontoxic cooking implements. most nonstick items are lethal to birds.

    I’m towards the end of my home build and wish I found your channel sooner! I am driving a shallow well for drinking water and while most people do this with PVC I am concerned about that material and considering using galvanized pipe instead. You don’t mention the dangers of toxicity from galvanized pipe in your video. With what you have learned, would this be a less toxic option than PVC?

  • @Healthyhouseontheblock
    @Healthyhouseontheblock5 күн бұрын

    Galvanized and PVC are typically for drain pipes, which are less concerning than supply lines that carry potable water. PVC pipes can off gas, which is the main concern. Galvanized is only carrying water away from your home, so there is no concern for water contamination. It would be a fine option for a water pipe that isn't coming in contact with your drinking water.

  • @MrTyNordstrom

    So what type of pipe would be best for my well? It has to be rigid enough to take the force of being driven 20/30 feet into the earth below the water table then fills up with water that is pumped up to my house for consumption. The only options I know of are galvanized, black pipe, or PVC.

    I was exposed to (TCE) trichloroethylene by a British powder coating company in the north east of England, owned by a particular family in Darlington.... Who had very little regard for HEALTH AND SAFETY, their only thought was Fu**** profits, a pompously selfish overweight owner, who invested profits into his stomach and no regrets or regulation on health and safety.. Something out of a Charles Dickens novel.... A red faced selfish ass ho** of a man..... Because of poor health and safety issues... I now have health issues with MSA Multiple System Atrophy Parkinson's disease... "Trike" or Tce, trichloroethylene caused this.... Never go near it

    It seems there isn't 100% consistency in their products. Almost all products are lead free on the exterior (where it truly matters -- lead cannot off gas from the interior). I have seen that some of their glazes contained trace amounts of cadmium. Not sure if that's all of them or not. Hope that was helpful!

    In your opinion, what house material changes can make the biggest reduction in off gassing in the house. My husband and I recently moved into a new built. We removed all the carpet (huge improvement in how we feel) and looking for other ways to reduce the toxic load within our house. Any suggestions?

  • @Healthyhouseontheblock
    @Healthyhouseontheblock26 күн бұрын

    Removing carpet is #1!! You could try a VOC blocker to reduce more VOCs. Next items would be replacing any pressed wood trim, doors or cabinets. Also, don't forget about filtering your water.

  • @chevyiceraw
    @chevyicerawАй бұрын

    I have researched extensively and so far, you have the only channel that speaks about dangerous chemicals in building materials, clothing, cosmetics, etc that we are exposed to on a daily basis. For example. It is sad to see people spreading lies saying the majority of carpets are made without chemicals. When in fact it’s approximately 99%. Unless you intentionally buy ones made from natural fabrics, such as wool, with natural rubber backing. I appreciate your channel and the informed way you present your material. ❤ I have always been one to buy everything as possible organic, natural, and avoid anything that is not. Organic and natural materials for bedding, clothing, wool, latex bedding, eco friendly furniture (extremely expensive but worth it), homemade organic cosmetics and skin care. I hope one day the majority of the population sees taking these precautions as healthy and not as unstable mental choices because someone is obsessed. There’s a difference and deciding on a healthy environment is not a mental disorder.

    The new round of tik tok version includes detergent. The old version didn’t use any detergent, only shredded laundry soap bars, borax and washing soda. The newer tik tok versions are adding in cheap detergents ( foca, Ariel) plus oxiclean, which is a way to get more mileage out of cheaper detergents by adding laundry boosters. They also now ( correctly) say to use 2 tbsp which would naturally extend how long your detergent lasts.
