The Legend Of Zelda was the first game cartridge that had a built in save feature, using battery-powered RAM. I could imagine the Librarian being perplexed by how that functioned. It seemed pretty magical to me as a 5-year-old.

Again, why did they imprisoned the first heir? What was the motivation explanation? I didn’t understand. Also who created the factory that produced the obelisks? When, how and why did the rabbits took control of the vault?

I'm not sure it was just a joke and I didn't realize or not but when Rods Kaden says there are two things in the final secret chest at the end of the video, I thought there was only 1 coin in it. I haven't opened the chest yet myself but is that really all there is and there isn't anything else special or secret about it? In a video by the channel "Furyforged", he mentions this chest and that he would talk about the chest again when he makes a video about the Tuneic auditory language. Knowing all of this gets me confused

I am surprised that Game Theory hasnt even looked into this game!! This would be so fitting for them as this game has so many questions and theories/speculations!

It ain't as much a surprise as you would initually figure. Game Theory, and the other channels, choose video content based on what is popular, what gets most engagement, what is trendy.

So if you were to understand the Fairies perfectly as they speak, would that be like how Star Wars interprets understanding droid language? A bunch of beep boop bops and you got a conversation going. Fascinating.

I think that how the void-touched work is that they were normal fox things that sacrificed themselves to be used as power sources by touching "the void". Then, by praying, they generate the miasma stuff that can be used as fuel. They also respond to prayer, as shown by when they give attention to the player for doing so, and this wakes them up to continue praying.

The only criticism I have for this game is that I that you should be able to get the final ending without getting a notebook out or printing that page from the golden path. Everything else crucial to get the true ending is pretty self contained and can be solved without breaking out of the game's world. I solved everything else on my own, got the bad ending, and was even inputting codes at different doors using the holy cross. Beating the final boss made me feel like I finished the game, so I wasn't in for another 12 hours trying to piece together this final crazy puzzle...

Wow, if I had a nickel for every indie game I've played where the characters are self-aware they're in a game, I'd have three nickels, Which isn't a lot but it's strange that it happened more than twice.

If LOVE the idea of using music as a language.

  • @albevanhanoy
    @albevanhanoy2 ай бұрын

The "We are the eyes of the far shore" music was simply intended as a Rosetta Stone to reveal the existence of Tuneic and translate it to Trunic. It is likely the existence of Tuneic was the final secret and there is nothing left to find. (As disappointing as it may sound.)

I think the Hero and the first Heir were the same person, as the Heir is wearing the Hero's Laurels in the manual's illustrations. Additionally, I don't think the Heir was imprisoned willingly. He built the cathedral and was the reason the planes started to break apart. As such, the Shadow Oubliette likely served the purpose of punishment. And the beacon is a trap, luring more unsuspecting ruin seekers to replace him. Or perhaps the Beacon is a remnant of the Heir's power, trying to escape. And Ruin Seekers, one after the other, attracted by this beacon and this promise of power, end up becoming the new Heir, trapped as just a cog in a repeating cycle, doomed to have their hope and lifeforce drained away by their prison to hold the forces of Disquiet from destroying the Canonical Plane. The only way to break this cycle is through sharing wisdom. Perhaps this wisdom serves to repair the planes, thus letting both of them escape.

Interestingly, the “void touched” 8:33 look like they are in a similar pose to the “hold a 3 secs” pose of the character Since the void touched also seem to be a form of life prior to the ruin seekers, I theorize that they are parts of the game world that have resorted to praying for its destruction. The player character/ruin seeker uses the obelisks throughout their quest by praying to them in the same pose in order to find every page of the manual, traverse the golden path, and find the “ruin” of the endlessly cycling game-world that they are seeking. Great video!

At some level the game doesn't want to be understood. I'd liken it to that of the unknowingness of an Eldritch god, like Cthulhu, which its clear that some of the imagery in the game takes inspiration from. What with the tentacles on the head and all. But I've always taken the phrase "far shore" to be the afterlife, since a portion of the store is about preventing it through immortality. It would fit the "fear" part of the mysterious message as a lot of the game's inhabitants just try to avoid the after life when possible. Which, is in this case another plane of existence it seems that is quantifiable to some degree.

I always like these videos until they get too lore-tesseractish. Too void-touched. I feel like Tunic is a game about the joy of sharing knowledge and the perils of becoming entombed within a world… it’s a powerful game when read in the context of how knowledge about games used to and is now shared… but reading it for a ‘true meaning’ is either an intentionally or unintentionally fruitless endeavour… do people want there to be something more to a story that the knowledge that someone once told a story? I love Tunic for bringing these questions up again.

Beginning of tunic: wow this game is so cute, I like the gimmick of finding out the controls. The end of tunic: We have been trying to decipher the message from the disquiet being to find a path for the golden cross, yet others believe that it is a mere reflection of their true power. I hear the sonnets of tuneic and I want to decipher there message, but what could it possibly mean?

Since there is no heir in the shadow oubliette to anchor the planes anymore, could this mean there is possibly a sequel to the game coming sometime in the future? Could this also be linked to the ARG webpage "Do you fear the eyes of the Far Shore"? All this could mean a similar event to the one that happened in the past with the old fox civilization is approaching.

What about the other tomb with a sword in it? There’s a location in the West right next to the well with the shop next to it. There is a door with a line puzzle on it. Inside there is a chest with a sword. When I first saw this I thought to my self why have a second sword just to throw away but maybe this is why.

The only thing I really wish is that there was some explanation of the electronics behind the circutry and who made it. At first it seems the teleporters and save points are spiritual, but eventually you see the are electronic and if the are damaged, they don't work. I want to know more about all that. When you see the evil rabbits with ranged weapon technology destroying some of the equipment.... I'm guessing the foxes made the teleporters, but lock systems and check points and the rabbits seek to destroy it, but who knows

I just beat this game and got the true ending and i don't know how to feel about this game. I love the meta aspect but the ending feels so empty to me. It feels like nothing was resolved. I can possibly excuse the ending if this is supposed to be a game to build upon for another cuz from what you just said, we just destroyed the barrier that prevents monsters from coming to the Canon Plane... Oops

I don't know much about tunic's lore yet and am making a leap of a guess here, but what if the Heir is supposed to be symbolic of load bearing code like how some games will have the integrity dependent upon a single item or entity being loaded for things to run smoothly. Considering the librarian seemed to figure out that they live in a game, maybe the past civilization understood that too, and was to some extent manipulate the code, and thus created the heir as an "anchor" code or load bearing code. (I am not a programmer by the way)

Personally I'm inclined to believe the Power-Reason-Grace triumvirate is analogous to Zelda's Power-Wisdom-Courage Triforce, but adapted to Tunic's Golden Path lore.
