What a video man, reallyy helped me understand what threads are. Thank you very much. I have a question though. How would it be possible to implement Multithread Convolution on a Image with a give 5*5 kernel?

This is what I've been doing with my VMs. I found a cheap used DL360 that I threw Ubuntu Server on and have been running my virtual machines on that. I've been using it for about 6 months now and it has been pretty stable. Virtual Machine Manager runs on my main system and I've been using that as an easy-to-use GUI interface for creating/deleting and accessing the VMs. I may have seen this video when I was learning how to setup bridged networking, so much appreciated.

great video, thank you for finally starting form scratch and explaining. i hate how so many people write all the code previously then want you to just do what they do......... i need to understand why im doing what im doing.

the pseudoteletype is interesting it reminds a bit of the different modes in vim at first, but i think its actually something a bit deeper like formally you could probably equate them to some degree, but functionally and semantically theres a lot more substance to the tty example

i remember we used to sometimes torture our undergrads by asking them to make the distinction between the phrases "eager to please" and "easy to please" exclusively in terms of the syntax. with the goal that they would come to see on their own what you lose if you try and derive semantic structure entirely from the surface syntax of an expression

this is one tool i use just rarely enough that i have to relearn it every single time lol and i agree regarding virt-manager. its nice to get constant visual feedback, but i find its the gui that most often misconfigure, almost never qemu itself

I've done something similar before, although I didn't use busybox. I just wrote a simple c program, compiled it and linked it with static option. I added it to the ramfs and I instructed the kernel to use this program as entry. However the biggest problem that we should address here is about persistent file system. How to load drivers that can talk with the storage medium and tell the kernel to use this driver instead of the ramfs after booting of course. please let me know if someone knows how this is done.

you are great....! Although I only use WiFi, I was not able to create the bridge to connect the Internet to QEMU because I use Slackware, but in the end I used another method. I didn't think you were from my great-great-grandfather's country, although unfortunately I was born in Perú.

Hi Viktor (hope I got the spelling close) , the YT algorithm queued this video up for me and I followed along using Ubuntu 20.4 atop the Linux 6.5 kernel. I successfully built and installed the 6.9 Linux kernel. Of course I ran into quite a few issues as you mentioned we would, but with a little thought and web searching simple solutions were found for each issue. Thanks for making a solid, content packed, educational video that stands the test of time. I'm looking forward to the next video in the series. THANKS!!!

The explanation of the MBR boot process seems to be wrong - there's a core.img at a well defined location on the disk, this is accessed by the code in the MBR. The MBR is too small (512-sizeof(partitiontable)-2 (magic number)) to understand a linux filesystem and thus can't access /boot/grub.

Godel's "Theorem" Godel's "Theorem" is a complete farce and absolutely trivial. Godel assigns a unique number to all the symbols in real numbers via the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra: e.g., the syntactical symbols "+", "-", "x" (multiplication) as well as the actual numbers and powers (e.g. 3^2). By his criteria, a "proof" consists of a tautology on each side of the equal sign. At first, one might think the statement "3 + 4 = 7" is a "proof", since it can be reduced to a sum of units on either side. But that would be a contradiction, according to Godel, because "3 + 4" has a different Godel Number than "7". So the only "proofs" for Godel are G(wff) = G(wff); any other statement is a contradiction by Godel Number. NOte that this characterization is not restricted to Wwff's: the equality is also true for gibberish n the metalanguage. By that criterion, all systems comprised of symbols (wffs or not) can be proved as true or false, but not both. Even gibberish is true, provided their Godel numbers match. And who decides that the Godel Numbers are equal? I do, since you are probably a figment of my imagination... :) TRUST me :) I call it a giant twittering machine built on nothing, see my pdfs on physicsdiscussionforum dot org Remember, you read it here first... :)

hello sir, thanks for making this series and I've learned a lot from the series you have made,I've also read the LFS books and it has tons of information but it was a bit difficult to go through, after watching this series I can say that I've a bit deeper understanding of linux system. It'd be nice if you created a discord channel where one could talk about creating their own operating system or something like that.
