A brave talented horse. He could have had 5-6 group one wins to his name if connections had looked around for soft group ones but they didn't, they took on the biggest names they could find in all the biggest races. All credit to them, it's a shame more owners and trainers worldwide don't do the same. I hope he outshines some of the more pampered and protected predecessors at stud as a reward.

I love the way Australians say Winxs is the greatest flat horse ever. Winxs handicap mark is 132 the same as Black caviar, that puts him only 12 on the all time list. Frankel is the highest rated horse ever with a mark of 140, so there you are FRANKEL is the best Ever.

@@elgransenor1472 That decision was made more than 12 months ago and I don't blame them the horse has been so good to them.I wish they would have took her to America that would have been my choice but they put the horses welfare first and good on them.The horse has won them 20 million,to me she is the perfect breeders cup horse.There's one thing that has been lost in this whole debate about Winx mate and that is her trainer Chris Waller's handling of her,to me he is Australia's best trainer but his training of the mare has been outstanding,in fact he's made her jockey Hugh Bowman's job easier,he just jumps on the Ferrari and away he goes,I been critical of some of his rides but he knows what he's got under her and always tries to give her the best ride even when circumstances don't unfold how he'd prefer.

I think her connections have let the sport down by not campaigning her outside Australia in either 2016 or 2017. I'm annoyed that in the four years she has reigned supreme your industry has not produced one other really good horse to give her a run for her money. Oh, make it three. I find the hype around her a bit fake and a bit boring and repetitive. Waller, Bowman and the owners give the same boring answers to the same boring questions over and over and over and over and over again and the media and marketers keep trying to hype it up.

@@elgransenor1472 They might give the same boring answers but that's mainly because she keeps winning but that doesn't detract from the Job Waller has done managing and training the horse,when she was an immature 3 year old I'm sure Waller thought she was good but the results didn't really say she was special,we don't know what went on behind the scenes but I'm sure Waller would have had that moment in track work when he said WOW!And I'm sure it was before that sunshine guineas win which was freakish to say the least.You must understand in this day and age most connections are thinking about the breeding barn so they don't really want to take on the best other horses because a loss could be detrimental to that value and another case in point would be The Autumn Sun who I really feel could beat Winx or at least challenge her,I just want see the horse come back as a 4 year old and do the same before I will call it a champion.So you see my point !connections want the best for their charges I mean outcomes and they will do what ever they think is best to achieve those means.It's just the way of the world now,such a shame the competitiveness has gone out of the sport although the horses don't now that.

Whatever they throw at her whatever they do, she just keeps on taking on all comers. What a load of hype. Be honest mate. Why not just say, Look , she's a great horse but we've been very lucky, there's been no Northerly, no Rubiton, no Lets Elope, no Vo Rogue, no Lonhro, no Saintly, no Shaftesbury Avenue or Campaign King for her to beat in the past 4 years. She can only beat what lines up against her and it's pretty easy for her to keep winning against this level of opposition.

I'd love to see her race a really high quality horse at their best and I'd be happy if she beat them. But she's never faced a really good horse at their best. Her wins and her performances are so over rated and over hyped. She's probably actually capable of so much more but she's never had to do it. If you had to come up with the most boring story for a horse winning 29 races in a row this would be it. The hype around her career is just fake news.

El Gran Senor the hype around her career is because she performs at the highest level. People wouldn’t think she’s the best horse in the world if her sectionals didn’t back it up. Her opponents sectionals back up their quality as well. She’s beat 67 group 1 winners. That’s why there’s so much hype, because she’s breaking records more records than any other horse

Bruce Wayne I'm afraid we'll need to agree to disagree about that. The horses she has beaten would not stand up to group one quality in Australia in the 70s 80s 90s or early 2000s. If you took Winx away the last six years is one of the worst periods in Australian racing in history in my opinion. Excluding your sprinters of course.

El Gran Senor I think if you look properly they do hold up. Humidor ran 16 lengths faster than the average in the 2017 coxplate. If there was no Winx, he’d have broken the track record and it would be one the greatest Cox plate wins of all time. Look at hartnell’s form going into the 2016 Cox plate. His 2016 Turnbull stakes rating is off the charts. She’d destroyed him that day.

Winx would not have beaten Cracksman in the Champion Stks at Ascot and Cracksman would not have beaten Winx in the Cox Plate or the Queen Elizabeth Stks at Randwick. He would have beaten her in the Turnbull Stks if she was ridden like that. He would beat Kings Will Dream and Trap for Fools by at least 5 lengths but Bowman probably wouldn't have ridden her that way if Cracksman had been in the race. Because these ratings are based on single best performances I'd say the tie is just about right. If you are talking about which horse was the better across all of 2018 you need to look at a different award with different criteria.

The queen elizabeth was the highest rated intermediate distance race and 2nd highest rated overall. The TJ Smith was the highest rated sprint race. The George Ryder and Colgate optic white stakes were equal highest mile races. Looks like Australia has the highest quality races and horses over 1000-2000m.

He would have beaten her in the Turnbull Stks if she was ridden like that. He would beat Kings Will Dream and Trap for Fools by at least 5 lengths but Bowman probably wouldn't have ridden her that way if Cracksman had been in the race. Because these ratings are based on single best performances I'd say the tie is just about right. If you are talking about which horse was the better across all of 2018 you need to look at a different award with different criteria.
The queen elizabeth was the highest rated intermediate distance race and 2nd highest rated overall. The TJ Smith was the highest rated sprint race. The George Ryder and Colgate optic white stakes were equal highest mile races. Looks like Australia has the highest quality races and horses over 1000-2000m.
El gran senor I think you’re thinking of the wrong race. Whoshotthebarman finished last. I think Le Romain is underrated as a miler tbh. Up there with some of the best currently in my opinion.
