I do like the Beetles, but I can envisage that Galley being laid out better than it is!
At £47,500, I reckon that it's overpriced by about £17,500. It needs re-blacking and repainting on the outside, the cover looks like it's ready to fall apart, the engine sounds like a tank, just looking at the carpet made me itch and although I love wood, it is possible to have too much of a good thing and it needs so lighter paint in places to brighten up the gloomy interior.

I reckon she was about 20 pounds 10 shillings when new . Unless a true project boat, these hit a low bottom price of about 45k now … even if worth a lot lot less than that . Hold your nerve buyers , this boat infloation will stall .

Thanks for that. At that price I won't bother watching the rest of the video. Way overpriced. According to two brokers I've just spoken to, prices are now coming down so this is at way too much, can get the same but 10 years newer for this money

How does a remodel work? If wanted to gut and remodel a boat that is seaworthy I would need to work with a marine architect. Obviously, canals and small rivers for narrow boats don’t come with the same challenges or the life and death consequences, but you still need proper balance and canals I’m sure are not without danger. So, is there a process you follow? If you replace similar for similar in the same places and go with fairly close weight would it be okay or is being a carpenter and house remodeler not enough?

Dinettes are hard to get into, hard to get out of, and not flexible space. Give me a fold away table every day of the week much more useable in small spaces.

Just wondering why folks don’t like the Portapotty? Yes, you’d expect either pumpout or cassette on a boat of this value, but James explains the reason why there isn’t. There’s far less to go wrong with a Portapotty, they are easy to install, easy to use and easy to empty and are very similar in use to a cassette. I’d rather sort out a faulty Portapotty than a faulty pumpout

I'd want the pump-out put back in, particularly if I live aboard, and for that price, it's mandatory. Paint above the waterline looks oxidized. And . . . that's really it. The boat's in great shape, regardless of age, and you could start cruising immediately. High end of the market, but it'll sell

It was all going well until the porta potty, it’s akin to me selling my weekend apartment and hoisting the toilet out and dumping a porta potty in the bathroom, but i’m prepared to have a conversation about putting a toilet back but sod’s law if i put a maserator in they might want mains drain 😅

A really beautiful, expertly-built boat which appears almost new, as if the prior owner was fastidious or simply did not use it much. It truly is first class. (I was distracted by Commodore Bumble's fever, and later his sad whining. He's not feeling well. A vet visit seems to be in order. Please let us know how the little guy gets on.)
