@@Queensway7941 nice
@@TorontoTransit3722 thanks. You are probably aware that there are 22 left.
@@Queensway7941 yes I'm aware of that. I only have 4 left to get before I'm done with the series.

W day this was 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Yessir, it was an amazing day! Definitely gotta do that again sometime!
Will you do one for the OG Diesels?
I already have one planned out, just for all to retire.
McNicoll, not Eglinton, tripper.
I rode on 3 of the 2005 MiWay units on 3 BLOOR(0521, 0531, and 0545)during the holidays in 2019 and 2022. These buses served at Islington Station for most of the years they were in service. When the new bus terminal opened in January 2021 the 2005 MiWay were already more than 10 years old so they still had a few more years of service before Mississauga had to retire them to get newer ones. When the 2005 MiWay entered service, they did not have PRESTO machines inside them because there were no PRESTO cards at the time. When the 2005 MiWay were being retired the 2006 MiWay also retired during the same time period along with the Scarborough RT. It is hard to believe that these beasts are gone and their lifespan have ended. I wanted to take 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 and 2007 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in September 2022 is because I will be living in Mississauga and got interested in 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in June 2019. The 2005 MiWay were one of the oldest buses to have green PRESTO machines inside and they machines like that until covid which was when they got updated to the new black PRESTO machines sometime during covid. When I took the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR from Square One to Islington during the holidays I also went to the Celebration Square to go attend some holiday events and they were lots of events going on and I'm sure I will never forget these beasts. (MiWay 0501 - 0572) 2005 - 2023 18 years of serivce. R.I.P rest in peace
There are around 40 units left
41 atm but yea.
@@TorontoTransit3722 8050 seems to have retired
@@Queensway7941 indeed.
@@TorontoTransit3722 now there's 40
All 9200 novas has been rebuilt
Ik, I'm glad I got this before rebuild.
@@TorontoTransit3722 you love novas with rebuilt or non rebuilt
@@calebmanuel17 the only rebuilt Novas I like are the 2015-16 novas and a small few of the 2017 novas specifically the lower 8620's.
@@TorontoTransit3722 same
I took 9434 on the 903 on Saturday
Nice catch, what did you think of it?
McNicoll is getting 34 (9400-9434) and the other 34(9435-9467) will stay at Mount Dennis
This will be interesting to see.
Honestly, yes I am! These are great on the 903 and I look forward to seeing them on other routes like the 953 Steeles East Express.
Man you happy that these bus transferred to Mcnicol?
Well done TorontoTransit! Keep going!
Thanks and will do!
Um I read the description and Mount Dennis won't be the only garage to operate the XDE60s, but McNicoll is expected to receive the half from Mount Dennis and will operate on the 903 and 953 as well as the 17, 39/939, 43, 57, 129, 968.
I'm aware of that, but McNicoll isn't done training yet so it wasn't worth mentioning hense why I didn't put anything there.
They're there now. Description is needed to be fixed.
Nice video, this operator actually flew
Thanks, ikr she was very fast. Too bad it wasn't a 929 though, we probably would've bypassed the 29😂
These have the new bae maps modular power steering which makes the bus start on battery mode not the engine when the engine is off

Better then what these guys got on the charter 😂😂😂
Lol ikr!
And that's EXACTLY why I say these should have been retired before the OGs
If we retired every bus that sounds like this one, we would have a bus shortage.
True @@TorontoTransit3722
These look weird
Yes but it's not bad tbh.
I can't believe these replaced all the 79s and half of the 80s
Well it was going to happen regardless if we liked it or not, at least they are not Novas.
@@TorontoTransit3722 Queensway is getting back the novas they gave to McNicoll to finish off the rest of them since the 119 NGs alone would not be enough
@@Queensway7941 And who told you they were getting those back?
It's mentioned on CPTDB on the Orion VII movement thread
@@Queensway7941 so that's where you get your sources from?
The 2003 YORK REGION TRANSIT were my favorite buses to take on 88 BATHURST to Finch and Seneca with my bike from early to late evening between late spring and the holiday season from June 2019 until September 2022. These were only found on the routes that are based out of the Southwest Division. In 2022, several 2003 units retired in March, April, August, September, and October. By late 2022, most of the 2003 YORK REGION TRANSIT have been retired so the last buses retired before the new year.
Sound different right now
Yea I noticed as soon as we left the platform.
Phasing out at least slowly. They're still training McNicoll and Mount Dennis staff on the XDE60s.
Indeed they are, but I'm not sure they will kill off any NG Hybrids when they are in service.
@@TorontoTransit3722I believe they will transfer ng hybrids my Dennis to malvern or arrow division.

@@TorontoTransit3722 what's your list of OG Diesels you caught) (Both 79s & 80s)
@@Queensway7941 a whole lot is all I can really tell you.
Do you think the 79s that are used as ES Buses and the 80s that are used as shelter buses will retire at the same time as the remaining active OG Diesels? Also, when do you think 8065 will be gone?
No the shelter buses and the Event Support buses will be around for awhile unless something happens to them. And 8065 will be away for a long time unless it needs Maintenance.
@@TorontoTransit3722 oh ok
@@TorontoTransit3722 what do you mean by " if something happens to them"?

@@TorontoTransit3722 WHAT!?
@@Queensway7941 what? They already have the former Air OG'S being used for something, wo what value would 8033 have that's worthy of preservation?
These beasts are the face of Queensway Garage
Yes yes they are
honestly the best airport 80xx was definitely 8011 because that had a really nice engine
Really? For me 8008 had a very good Engine and sounded will maintained.
Why did the airport Orion VIIs have to be retired just because novas started to run on the 900? Couldn't they have been used on other Queensway routes?
They had high mileage, needed a lot of maintenance and some of these repairs that were needed weren't exactly worth the investment.

Why were they stored at North Queen from so long?

The XDE40s outnumber the OG Hybrids
In terms of what? how many are left or the fleet number? And just to be clear, it would not make any sense if it were the fleet number because the 72's were reused from an older fleet and 10 comes before 72 so that wouldn't make sense no matter how you try to put it.
