    Yeah!!! Doesn't add up. When asked about playing snooker players, he only played Roonie??? Plenty of footage his playing the like of White and Davis in pool. I'm sure he can think of other examples other then a hustle of a 16 year old kid. Game was non existent in Thailand which produced Watana??? I'm sure Watana alone made the game more popular at the time and after. Sure they are of the same time but still. He never played snooker AT ALL?? Not so sure about that. He just did it for a bit because the government forced him??? Sound more BS. He makes out like he played one frame in his entire life which happened against Roonie who spotted him 25 points and proceeded to make a break of 135 in 5 minutes and then some random people came up to him and gave him a watch because they were rewarding him for not torturing them with more snooker watching. Could tell the guy listening stopped buying it at the end.

    7:44 is a callback to Efren Reyes Z shot in 1995 against Earl Strickland. Once they did a pool-playing interview podcast/video and Efren Reyes was teaching Van Boening the Z shot and told Shane would need more than 20 tries to ever get it. Next thing yknow he gets it!

    Making the cue ball jump over another ball (or even leave the bed of the table at all) AFTER contacting the 'ball on' is an advanced piece of positional play and cueing. Making the cue ball leave the bed of the table prior to contacting another ball is just not within the traditional spirit and skill set of any cue sport. IMO Figuring out the angles and cushions etc is and akways has been a fundamental principle in all cue sports, on all tables. I admire the obvious skill involved in jumping. But those cues, and the whole circus, it just doesn't pass the smell test for me. Try seeing what that does to the slate also. Either way, pool would be a lot less coin flip if jumping was 'off the table' - pun fully intended.

    Theres no proof of this. Theres a video of him playing snooker from the other year and he struggled to make 16 no chance in hell has he just rocked up to play a one off frame and made a break of 132 😂. Surprinsingly there is no footage of this

  • @richardwagner9421
    @richardwagner94212 ай бұрын

    uhh ya, prolly because snooker is not his main game and would've never played the game again after beatin sullivan until 30 years later, he played the game again in a random pub. you should know that in the philliepines, snooker is pretty much unpopular nor has anyone even heard of "snooker"

  • @WallieTheRed
    @WallieTheRed2 ай бұрын

    @@richardwagner9421 yeah of course, I'm not knocking him, by far and away the best pool player of all time. But snooker is a different animal all together. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a great snooker player if he had grown up playing it just I find it incredibly difficult to believe he can rack up a 132 break in just a random frame without practice.

  • @richardwagner9421
    @richardwagner94212 ай бұрын

    @@WallieTheRed I understand your perspective. but Efren definitely practiced snooker for weeks or months before the tournament. Its common logic that when your going to play on something big, you gotta make sure you practiced hard for it especially when the government asked you to represent your country.
