I appreciate the love that he gave joe all the credit he well deserved. But I don't like they way he spoken about ali, to say Ali can't say anything because he in lala land is fucked up.

No Hispanic fighter has ever beaten a top notch black fighter without controversy besides duran when he fought Leonard and even then leonard still beat him in the rematch im talking about upper level pound for pound type fighters not regular ones

Wow… that first knockdown Shavers had over Lyle was downright grizzly… how did he find it in himself to continue the fight, let alone turn it around?? Amazing stuff!

Total punch’s landed Whittaker 232 of those 160 were jabs so hooks uppercuts and right hands were only 72 that landed. Let’s look at Oscar total punch’s landed 191 of those 45 were jabs. So hooks uppercuts and right hands landed 146. So who is the better fighter? Who won the fight? I’d agree with the judges.

Foreman, Lyle and Shavers were all big men with big arms shoulders and back muscles that when used correctly gave them the ability to hurt their opponents. As they went up to around round 6 - 7 they were visibly tired and became vulnerable to a fighter that could either absorb the power punches or a fighter who was smart enough to use the ring. Only man to do that was Ali, be it though he did cop some of their trademark blows. Their fitness was also a factor which is why I think Tyson would have mabey beaten Shavers and Lyle but maybe not Foreman..Ali probably wasn't the best fighter but he knew how to win, his hunger for winning was greater.

Oscar beat him convincingly.. Simple as that.. First 5 rounds straight easily, could of still been 7 or 8 straight. Would been an even larger gap if not for the trip that was ruled a knockdown.

My first thought after the end of this fight was, this had to be the fight of the year. Most of it could of been in a phone booth. I am 56 years old and never heard of these guys The reason either one of these boxers never became champions is because they relied to much on their power and brawled more than boxed. Got to love how they bring and take it though. RIP Earnie and Ron.
