My real name is Greg Hill. However I've adopted the pseudonym of Sir Gregory, because that's often what I get called in the Philippines, and it amuses me. The photo I use is of the real Sir Gregory Page-Turner (1748-1805). Check out his portrait on Wikipedia and you'll see behind him a table littered with books. How appropriate for his surname?
I'm well-and-truly retired from the work-force, and have always lived in Sydney, Australia. I'm just an amateur vlogger, so don't be too harsh with your comments.
My videos fall mostly into these categories:
1. Videos of our family and pets
2. Travel around Sydney, and some of its hidden treasures
3. Travels overseas, mostly the Philippines where we have family and friends

Thanks ol' mate
You're welcome, and thanks for reminding me how old I am. Still, it's better than the other option. 😉
Bird missed his TOGA window
I grew up there between 1988 and 1996 and it was a different place back then. It used to have a fish and chip shop, general store/bottlo. Now it seems trendy and catered to a different type of crowd. Sad to see it go that way to be honest.
As much as we'd prefer otherwise, things keep changing. For many, that's good, for others, not so much.
Congratulations Sir Gregory, the best video with a story, excellent aerial photography, still photos and historical photos . Well organized and delivered
You're very kind. Thanks for visiting my channel.
Was on that flight when i was 6 , we just got on another plane and if i am correct i think this flight was to India (or maybe another country )
It was Philippine Airlines Flight 2814 from Davao City to Manila on August 29, 2018
It must have been a long runaway.
Yep, 3000m.
You really should specify this is for OWNERS manual and not service / workshop manual.
They ought to ban birds in airports. ;)
I think they are banned. Isn't it one of the amendments to the Constitution of the United States?
Rest in peace, brahminy kite... you'll always be remembered
Can't see a thing.. Maybe sone one farted! 😅
my conclusion:- as the bird strikes, the engine, the engine starts to spool down fast, indicating that something failed. guessing by the reaction time, the pilot monitoring would have seen a possible loss of thrust on engine 2, or there could be alarms blaring for the exact same reason the take off was cancelled as how most cancelled takeoff goes, and engine was severely damaged for it to be deemed unsafe and the flight was cancelled
Sounds about right. Thanks for your comment.
cant get the 11/14 Toyota Rav4 workshop manual, says have to subscribe.
The link in the video description works for me. toyotamanuals.com.au/#/search Let me know how you go.
@@SirGregory it says have to subscribe.
Me and my husband are going there this Sunday . Thank you for your lovely video .
How do we get workshop/ factory manuals?
It's all in the video. I've checked it all in the past few days and it works.
Where does the long aluminium part go
Sounds like you mean the oil channel mentioned in step 11 of the instructions on page 21 of the manual. It's mentioned again in steps 25 and 26. Oil and fat flows to the front of the plates. There is a long thin aluminium oil channel to be installed under the front of the plates that catches the oil and fat. It then drains to the left-hand end of that oil channel, exits through the LH end of the BBQ body and is caught in a container. Hope this helps.
Pilot threw his KFC out his window
If that wasn't a bald eagle, it sure was after the fact!
Haha, the poor bird was a Brahminy Kite.
@@SirGregory Yes, I know. Your point?
amazing!!🤣🤣😍
Thanks 👍
It’s scary, but that pilot saved many lives
This aborted takeoff is standard operating procedure if an engine fails at or before a speed called V1. After V1, the takeoff continues on the remaining engine(s). All multi-engine commercial jets are designed to take off safely on one engine after V1. If you'd like more information, search for: V1 aircraft engine failure for more info.
For a moment i thought it was a Bald Eagle.
👍 It's a Brahminy Kite, but so many think it's a Bald Eagle.
Good thing they didn't reach V1 speed. Emergency stop on runway is the best scenario.
My guess is we were only a second or two from V1. Staying on the ground was good for me.
Hey mate thanks for the info but unfortunately I can't download my Kluger model as it says subscribe. Was looking for kluger-service-repair-manual-aug-03-may-07 the model MCU28R as I have a 2004 CVX. Any chance of providing a download link? Cheers

The braking was so strong that the cellphone flew out of the woman's hand hahaha I've been in a takeoff that was aborted on the Congonhas runway and we all flew forward. I remember seeing an old lady's dentures flying in the seat in front of me. I was terrified but laughed so much. I will never forget that aborted takeoff on that rainy day in Congonhas on board a 737.
As you know, an aborted takeoff is certainly scary, but pilots have standard operating procedures for this emergency. Our PH flight crew followed them perfectly. Firetrucks raced out to meet us as we came to a stop but were'nt needed. Thanks for commenting and relating your "flying teeth" story.
What If a net is fitted there....??💀
Many viewers have asked this question. The answer is simple when you think about it. All jet engine manufacturers have studied this problem for perhaps 50 years or more. They would have used a mesh screen if it was a viable solution. But it isn’t, so they don’t. Jet engines consume huge quantities of air to operate. That’s why there’s such a large opening at the front. Anything that would keep birds out would also cause turbulence and reduce the volume of air entering the engine, making them less efficient. Aircraft would fly slower and consume more fuel. Ticket prices would go up and then people would ask, “Why do aircraft engines have mesh over the air intake?”
I love to visit there
it looks like a male baby bald eagle
Thanks for visiting and commenting. This poor bird was a Brahminy Kite, a member of the raptor family that includes eagles and hawks. This airport is Davao in the Philippines. Brahminy Kites are common in the Philippines and in the rest of Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and Australia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahminy_kite The Philippines is also home to the world's largest eagle and, in my view, the most beautiful of all. photos.app.goo.gl/abo1CV9pGgVLja246

How does the BBQ go 2 years later? have you had any issues with the grills rusting?
Bought it during the pandemic and only used it a few times. I thought the plate and grills would rust, but they haven't. Based on spasmodic use, I'm happy with it. I use a power washer to clean the plate and grills. Then season with oil before putting the cover back on.
You mean Plandemic......
What's the pilot's score for getting 1 bird strike? I'm new to this.
Shredded Tweet
Just imagine if this bird trike happened a second after v1
No problems. At V1 the aircraft has enough speed to take off on one engine. Thanks for your comment.
@@SirGregory yes, but the problem is they would have to fly and try to land back safely, which is a lot more dangerous. At least before v1, they got to escape that danger by aborting the liftoff and then exiting the runway. Flying with just one engine is a lot harder as you would need to use a lot of rudder to keep the aircraft straight.
I have the same thing but I’m having an issue screwing the gas bottle to the bbq? Do you have the same issue ?
No, I didn't have any issues with my gas bottles.
Scary the only thing between safety and death for people in high sltitude is a bird going into the engine and still theres no way to prevent it from happening with with all the tech we have.
Life is random and full of risks we take every day. Climbing a ladder, crossing the road or, in the US, going to school. Air travel is cheaper and safer than it has ever been. But not as safe as trains. Or not going anywhere. 😉
Rip eagle 👇🏻

Poor little guy. Was just trying to get home
"Nobody was harmed"
At 0:40 you can see the bird in normal speed
Lucky that the plane is still on the ground imagine if it's in the air what could of happen.
Twin engine jets can take off on one engine once they reach a critical speed called V1. Before V1 they have enought runway to stop safely.
There is a cafe and its really nice. It's in the building on the right hand side right after you make the crossing.
Thanks Daniel. We look forward to brunch there soon.
