Hello Quintin, what rootstock do you use? Bruno or Bounty71? In italy we start use Bounty71 because it is tollerant to heavy soil. Thanks

Hey there I've worked orchards that use both rootstocks. In heavier soils as you said - bounty is typically used. But in areas with free draining soils - Bruno was used. I've notice that Bounty typically produced a higher number of flat fruits and required more extensive flower thinning... But that's just my subjective experience.

Do the new kiwi canes need to twisted around the strings or are they connected to the string for starting in some other way?

Hey Jim! Thanks for the question! The kiwifruit canes need to be trained onto the strings. Once the canes are around 20cm long or more, we wrap the canes clockwise around the strings (if in the Northern Hemisphere, wrap them anticlockwise). The canes then continue to hang onto the strings and will climb right to the top without further intervention 😊

Lambs and sheep are such peaceful animals. How can so many people be so much less affected by lambs and sheep being slaughtered for food than by the idea of that happening to dogs? Both animals are clearly just as loving and affectionate
