My husband and I + our two beagles spent a summer in Eastport....2001? When we pulled up to the IGA, I felt like it was 1964. When we walked the dogs at night, there were skunks everywhere. It's a miracle we went 4 months without a spray! At nighttime, the beautiful abandoned houses were truly spooky---chills. We went for several sails on the Sylvina Beal (sp). Beautiful, beautiful. When we lived there, creative people were moving in by the handfuls. We've maintained several friendships there. Sadly, it seems (seems) like people who want a dramatic change of pace, discover the Eastport will always be isolated. Then it's time to go. Grass is greener kind of thing. Long live Eastport! We look forward to seeing you again.

As someone with vertigo, the bridge itself needs warning. I had to turn around. I could not cross it. The exposure can trigger vertigo just driving across it. Really, this bridge needs warnings, especially since the approach from the south gives absolutely no warning of the fright and difficulty that is coming.

Every time I mow my pasture after cow move, I have one who follows me to feed as insects take to the air. They hear a mower and come flying!

They are protected under the Federal Migratory Bird Act which means destroying them, their nests or their young is against the law. If you wish to know the benefit of them to humans, they are in the flycatcher family. They eat insects and feed their young insects ranging from moths and butterflies, cicadas, wasps and other winged insects. Sometimes they eat spiders and ticks, often by hovering near a branch and gleaning the bugs there. They usually have two broods a year.

thank you for making this video, it was exactly what we were looking for! You're awesome!! We've been watching an Eastern Phoebe building her nest for weeks but she kept changing locations. Finally she found the right spot and she's sitting on her eggs - haven't gone to check it out yet but my toddler and I appreciate learning more about them! Thank you <3

Is it necessary to speak to the audience in such a condescending way, she may not have grown up here but she doesn’t have to have such disrespect for the citizens by talking to them like children all the time. She is too conflicted, we should another person I charge of this election and she should sit it out if she’s so concerned about fairness. The Supreme Court overruled her bias. Maine deserves better Ms Bellows

Phoebes return to the same downspout on our house each year. We are waiting until their second clutch of eggs hatch and fly away before we work on our gutters.

That is quite an amazing achievement. You mentioned wind turbine blades. The biggest issue as you may know with those turbine blades is transporting them to the installation site from the manufacturing site on road networks which limits their size to an extent and adds transportation costs. If you printed them near the installation site using a portable version of your large 3D printer, size of the blade is only limited by your material strength. That could be big market for your 3D printer.

More than slightly scary- I have no choice but to look at that burden on taxpayers everyday. Not safe in nasty weather, ice falls from the top and onto cars. Its also built on Native American burial site. WAAAAY too big for this tiny town

Aroostook County - my brother-in-law refers to it as "the county." I've watched Jeff P spray potatoes in a Bell 47 helicopter north of Blaine. Been through Blaine, Mars Hill and points north countless times. I grew up across the border in Carleton County and worked my young years to late teens on two potato farms. I married a beautiful girl from Florenceville, NB, the home of McCain Foods. The Saint John River valley in the north creates the border between Canada and the USA. Wonderful countries.
