    You should try fabri-tac or fabri-fix. It’s also known as 3 in 1. All 3 are made by Beacon and are pretty much the same thing. I make junk journals and other crafts and use it for everything. I haven’t found anything yet it doesn’t hold.

    My husband loves tiny models, so I got him this a few Christmases back, thinking he might like to try. He loved it, but felt so overwhelmed that he never got around to starting. I decided to make it for him for Christmas this year and it's SO involved. Somewhere around the 100th book, I started pondering all my life choices, but then I got some scrapbook paper to use as wallpaper and cut the ends of a million popsicle sticks to create a custom wood floor. What is happening??! This is REALLY fun??? Mine isn't going to look like the model exactly, but I think that's what I'm enjoying about it. I just knit a teeny tiny rug for the library. 🤦 So anyway, even if you've never tried building a little tiny room, you might like it. It's my first, but now I'm customizing it and planning a second tiny build. What is my life lol

    This turned out so cute! I was happy about the gradient effect you created on the tail. Also the shading looks great! This makes me want to go to the thrift store and find something to paint. ❤

    It looks great! I decided to paint the walls different colors like yours, as I found the all white kind of boring. I'm almost done the whole kit, but I'm REALLY getting frustrated by the wiring! I'll have to buy more wire and heat-shrink tubes, as I've had to redo them so many times. I feel like I won't do any more miniatures, even though I really enjoyed everything else.

    Its a little late now...but I make journals....the glue you want is Fabri-Tac...fabric to fabric, fabric to paper, paper to paper....the stuff is magic. Its not water based so no buckling or bubbling in paper. But you did a fabulous job just as you did it.

    All was going well with mine, until I got to the wiring for the lights. The wire kept breaking as I was twisting the bunch to finish the light fitting. Someone told me to watch your video. You made it look easy, I on the other hand was driven nuts by the wire. So thin that even trying to remove the outer sleeve broke he wire. The whole thing is about one step from the bin unless I can sort out the wiring.

    🏍️ I've been there. Broke 'em til nothing left to twist. So i bought replacement wire from the hobby shop. A little thicker, but several small strands that don't break. Bought some cheap heat shrink tubing as well. Now i've constructed three chandeliers with barely any parts from the kit.

    Kinda wish you had let the original object dictate your glow-up more. Mostly I mourn for the lovely wood inlay on top that is now covered up, never re-emerge. The detailed lions feel like they need some convincing gold spray paint and the lovely, detailed engraving on the architecture deserves to be played with in any reincarnation. You could have made it your own kind of castle or garden gazebo with your own little dollhouse furniture, but it would also be interesting to go the route of putting a normal-size flower arrangement into the bottom and painting whatever you wished to match that.

    How much fabric did you use for the project ?

  • @BunnieDIY
    @BunnieDIY Жыл бұрын

    Hi, thanks for asking and I'm sorry I didn't clarify how much I used. I would say you'd be safe with 1/2 yard. You could also use your book to measure: wrap your fabric around your book twice and make sure you leave 3 or 4 inches around the edges. That should ensure you have enough to line the inside and fold over for glue. And for the sides (the top and bottom of the book) it depends on how wide you want the book to open. So you could lay the book on the fabric open to the width you want and trace a trapezoid shape. That should give you the fabric you need 😁 please let me know if you need more help ❤️

    Oh, she's adorable! Love the rockabilly look and so glad the hat was too small so she can wear it at the jaunty angle so her curl can show. And the hat pin color worked beautifully. And I love how creative you were with the belt buckle moon. So happy to see you upload again.

    It is so cute, my favourite is the Ghost. I vaguely remember having done this in school but without cute characters inside just colouring the shapes in without having any colour touch itself. Also you are never really supposed to varnish directly onto the paint but you need to put an isolation layer or else the varnish will stick to the paint and once it yellows you cannot ever get it removed. And you need to wait at least 2 weeks until varnishing and isolation layer so that the paint can properly dry. Also nice to see you back again. <3
