Thank you for this time spent in God’s Word. In my little nuclear family I am the “last man standing”. I’ve experienced the death of my parents, my brother and my two sisters. All good Christian people with my parents more actively practicing than their children but all of us believed in God and in Christ his Son. They all gave more to me than I ever gave to them so I lamented each loss but in my use of language I didn’t grieve. To a greater extent with each passing I came to see the day that they died as their “graduation” day. The day they got to stand before the Lord God. To try to deny them that and hold on to them would be very selfish of me and I’m selfish enough without adding that to it. I’m happy for where they are but but still lament their loss in my life. Praise be to God for all he has given me. Amen

Hello Pastor Toby, thanks for sharing this powerful message from God’s Word. I really praise God for preserving you and your church. I’m always touched by your preaching of God’s Word every time I listen. I miss you at Bible Study Podcast. I was listening to your sermons there but it seems the podcast were gone. Praising God I can still hear your preaching from here in youtube. May the Lord continue to use you mightily. It’s from your preaching that I really grow in the Lord in abiding in Him. That’s why I search for you. There’s not much Pastor that preach the way you do recently. Praise God.

Lord I pray that I have the same kind of faith that David did and that I wait calmly and patiently for God’s perfect timing in delivering me from my struggles. Amen

What a powerful sermon. As for me, my life has been ruined by lust. (Not really because I have been forgiven) but it played such an important role in my life. Personally I have to agree that it’s the most common and pernicious sin. God so graciously allowed me to live to the age that my hormones don’t rule my life. He chose me and allowed me to move beyond the influence of my hormones. Good or bad, I became “one flesh” with many women. I hope that somehow they will become my sisters in heaven.

I love how you take a microscope to each verse of the Bible and reveal meanings that I missed or glossed over. My only regret is that I would probably have to live 150 years to hear you preach the whole Bible. God bless you and your congregation.

God separated David from Israel. Then He separated him from the Palestinians. Then he separated him from his own followers. That sounds like a refining process. At that moment there was no one on his side but God. His relationship with God had been refined. Thank you for the sermons.

What a terrifying account of judgement day. Saul received his while he still had a day to live his life. What a sense of hopelessness must he have lived with in his remaining hours. I’m curious about Samuel’s use of the words “with me” when he could have used so many other words to describe what was going to happen.

So to sum it up could one say that God is interested in who we are because that’s the root of what we do and that’s why he offers us a personal relationship to Him? I pray God helps me change my heart to be more like His. Another great sermon straight from the Bible as always.

What a great lesson for me at this time of my life. I will wait on the Lord. You alluded to my favorite verse for understanding my place. Isaiah 55:8-9. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Every time I have doubts or concerns I come back to this reality as revealed by God. It’s very humbling to me.

First things first: "The most important thing about a person is what they think about God. The way you see God will greatly affect how you see the world, and will greatly affect how you see yourself." Well Noted!

Thank you Toby. On July 2nd, the Lord willing, I will become a grandfather to a baby girl named Lucy. Both her parents profess to be atheists. Please pray for this family and please pray that God grants me the wisdom to know how to negotiate my way through this situation without alienating the parents but without condoning their willing blindness to the reality of the God of the Bible.

David had a clear vision of how things were and never lost sight of the fact that Saul had been anointed by God to be king just as he was. He had been given the same anointing that Saul had so he left it in God’s hands to choose how it would play out. What a wise and faithful decision.

Thank you Toby. Just got back from a Catholic funeral today and though I don’t understand some of their practices, I must say that it was a beautiful service in that the central theme was salvation through Jesus Christ. We are all in this together. Peace be with you. And the greatest peace is found in our Lord Jesus Christ.

As I face my own petty difficulties in this life, I pray that I never loose awareness of my blessings. I want to be like David and draw nearer to God and have faith that He uses the problems I face as a forge to strengthen and sharpen me. Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow. I would also ask that you pray for my friend Phyllis who’s husband died to this world yesterday.

First of all, I’d like to ask everyone who sees these messages to “like” them and leave a comment. This is how a channel grows on u-tube. Let’s help this fisher of men to spread his net wider. Now as to this message, I’m astounded at God’s grace in protecting David in the city that was in the very bowels of his enemies. He withheld their hands from killing him and you can only imagine that there must have been hundreds that wanted to.

I wonder if the fact that Saul’s seat placement (by the wall) is even included in the description gives an indication of his paranoia. Maybe he didn’t want people behind him. Interesting that this little fact was part of the story.

What a perfect sermon for me to hear today! God has given me a mountain of blessings that I totally didn’t earn or deserve. Now before me is uncertainty as I have learned that my job as I’ve known it for 15 years will end next year but I put my faith in God and know that He has a plan for me. I am brought to my knees in humility to know that I was a part of His plan from the time of creation. I pray that I will submit myself to His plan in the knowledge that it all is being done for my good.

Don’t obfuscate God’s command. He said to kill “both man and woman, infant and nursing child”. Imagine yourself as that soldier. You enter a home and discover a child that just that moment took it’s first step and then you thrust a spear into it’s chest in order to do God’s will although you never personally heard the voice of God. What does that do to your life? Every time I come across something like this I go back to my bedrock verse from the Bible, Isaiah 55:8 and thank God that He did not put me in the position of that soldier. It’s easy to gloss over the individual actions that God’s commands required. Don’t get me wrong. I’m in no position to judge God’s judgements but then you as that soldier have to go to sleep at night.

What is incredibly humbling to me is that when God made this universe, He had me in mind just as He had you in mind. The entire universe is a gift to me and you. Dear God, please help me appreciate and even be aware of just how much you’ve done for me.

Of course the first week of creation were 7 days made up of 24 hours each. Why leave the door open for evolution and it's millions of years of time if creation week was not days of 24 hours each??? Yashua the Creator set the template of 24 hour days before HE instituted the sun, moon and stars to do the same. After all, the luminaries were created to measure time for man, made up of 24 hour days, with day and night separated, just like time is measured today. It's as simple as that. No philosophy required!!!

Anyway, from now on, I’m going to post a reply to every video you post because I believe that helps with spreading your message because of the utube algorithms. So if in the future you see an “amen” just know that it means way more than that.
