Without the stretch you arent gaining nearly as much muscle. 1/4 and 1/2 reps are almost useless for both strength and hypertrophy. The literature is pretty sound at this point. If you need a safety thats fine, but you should be going deeper to achieve best results. Why do exercises that waste time and energy for little results?

This is an accessory exercise working on overloading the triceps and overcoming the sticking point in the strict press. There are time and places for almost every movement if you know when and how to implement them. Saying this exercise is useless is ignorant and close minded. Broaden your horizons and get stronger.

@@drakestephens3447 it's essentially useless. It's like saying if I put in a bunch of effort and get a small amount of progress it's better then if I put in the same amount of effort but get better results. It makes no sense to do this, it's a waste of time and energy. The literature is pretty well defined. 1/4 reps expend energy and time for very little increases while full reps require similar amounts of time and energy but get 3x more results. Why spend an hour doing something to gain 1% when the same hour will yield 10%? It's stupid.

@@drakestephens3447 again, you seem to miss the point entirely. This is pointless. You aren't doing yourself any favors or getting really any benefits from this. This does nothing to actually increase strength or hypertrophy to any meaningful degree. The literature and science is pretty clear at this point. Maybe mentally this is fun, but it's like using 87 octane when you car needs 91. Like ya it'll run, but you aren't getting as much gain

This is a great move but it’s 50% technique, 40% momentum, and 10% of a muscle up.

Great work but it doesn't make sense to do the burpee so fest if you rest more then 30 sec before you start the lift, and also why you dont with the belt all the time?
