    I have a msi gaming laptop. Any truckers out there looking to game out on the road like myself, a modified sine wave will not charge this laptop. The pure will probably do the trick but im not 100% certain. But i want to add, the reason for this comment is why im here based on the video and maybe others out there are too.

  • @WaganTech
    @WaganTech24 күн бұрын

    Great reasons. Even all pure sine inverters are not built the same. Wagan Tech pure sine inverters have a less than 3% THD, so they're even cleaner energy. Our inverters are used in military, first responder, and government applications.

    Great video. I would like to know the following: If you do have an power adapter AC/DC (like with scanners, laptops and printers), is it safe to assume that a MSW will not cause any problems to electronics plugged to it?

  • @WaganTech

    Short term, MSW is fine, but if you use it regularly, definitely consider using pure sine inverters instead.

    Great explanation of what power inverters are. I wish you expanded to explain how they draw on vehicle batteries? Can it be connected to battery with vehicle not running? How much draw on vehicle battery? Do I need to start car once in awhile to keep battery charged? If so, how often. Does it greatly affect battery lifetime expectancy? Lots of questions, I know, regarding effect on battery. I would like you to use a typical 12v vehicle battery as an example. Thanks!

    Is the wattage based on the inverter's normal or peak watts?

  • @WaganTech
    @WaganTechАй бұрын

    For Wagan Tech inverters it’s always at normal wattage. Keep in mind that most of our inverters are true rated wattage meaning that you get 100% of the rated power versus many inverters out there will rate at 30% usage time after which it will drop at least 20% of what’s advertised. Hope that helps.

    Does the engine need to be running to use the inverter because I want to live in my car so I can live rent free and save money for a home but I also use a cpap machine but with the engine running it uses fuel and car battery

  • @WaganTech
    @WaganTechАй бұрын

    Great question, you should have the engine running if you're running it from the primary (starter) battery. You can also use a DC-DC charger and run an auxiliary (house) battery to run the inverter so you don't wake up to a dead starter battery. We can help with the DC-DC charger as well if you're interested.

    @WaganTech I live in the UK I was just trying to figure out if I could use my cpap machine without the engine on as I don't want the car battery to die

  • @WaganTech
    @WaganTechАй бұрын

    @@tubzgames199 Technically yes you can, but depending on the size of your battery, it may run out of juice in the middle of the night. Most inverters out there will have a low voltage warning, so you may get an early alarm buzzer. For reference, a CPAP will use about 60-90watts (<1Amps 110VAC/0.4Amps 220VAC), depending on model. You'll need to calculate the Amp-hours your vehicle battery has in reserve and then know your running time. Hopefully that will add up to at least 8 hours of sleep. Good night and good luck.

    I bought this item to use with a 12 volt car battery. I installed a fuse on the positive cable. The unit worked for a while but my appliances were above the wattage so the unit shut off. I changed the fuse and everything since the unit would not work for long but kept beeping until eventually shutting off. I was dependent on this energy source for my business. Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

    Hi, great video, I was using my laptop on a modified 1500 watts sine wave inverter, the laptop's charger was making a buzzing noize, that I wasn't experiencing on normal electrical wall socket, I want to know if it is still safe to work on my laptop even with the buzzing noize from the charger, by the way my battery is old so I keep thw laptop plugged to the charger all the time

  • @WaganTech
    @WaganTechАй бұрын

    Technically, there shouldn't be a safety issue, but if your laptop power supply is buzzing, it will mean it'll run hotter and less efficient. You might want to consider upgrading to a Wagan Tech Pure Line inverter if you're able.

  • @WaganTech
    @WaganTech2 ай бұрын

    With the proper size Wagan Tech inverter, you should be just fine. Just check your AC draw specs (e.g., 10A @ 110V AC input). Your golden formula is Amps * Volts = Watts. Also, make sure your vehicle battery is large enough to support it and/or run your vehicle while you're charging. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
