    I think I’m the only person watching this that knows the birdseed will get clogged up in that bottle

    It is flowing out just fine and the birds (and squirrels!!) are enjoying it! If you are concerned with the size of the seed you can certainly get smaller sized seed too.

    Howd you cut the holes? Spade bit?

  • @RickSawDesigns
    @RickSawDesigns19 күн бұрын

    @@blackwingvisuals5017 I used a hole saw - quick and easy. I cut halfway through, flip board and then complete cut from other side for a nice clean cut. A spade bit would work but would need another backer board under it to avoid "blowout" on the backside.

    I taught a friend of mine with over 35 years in construction if you mark a line with a standard Sharpie and cut on the line it is an exact cut. I was always taught mark your line and leave the line, cut!

  • @RickSawDesigns
    @RickSawDesigns21 күн бұрын

    Great idea with the Sharpie - there are always new and smarter ways to do things if you are open to them.

  • @BobBob-eh5sb
    @BobBob-eh5sb17 күн бұрын

    Yeah, either way, cutting the line or leaving the line is ok. I guess one question would be about the marks on the tape measure. Would you mark on the left side or the right side of it. They are probably around a 1/16”, so not much, but if you pick one side and use it to measure where the piece is going and use the same side to measure the piece, then all is good. And if using a roll up tape as opposed to a steel rule, it doesn’t hurt to check the hook on the end of the tape occasionally. The holes can wobble out in time and your outside measurement might not be quite the same as the inside measurement. And make sure the hook is pushed in or retracted when doing an inside measurement. Again it’s not going to be much, but if you’re looking for exact it might be enough. The main thing is to be consistent. Measure everything the same way, try to use the same measuring device for the entire project, and use the same marking tool whether it be a sharpie, mechanical pencil, marking knife or whatever.

    I been doing wooden crafts at shows for the past few years every show and crowd is different. My goal is to start the year and get my investment back quickly after that it is all for fun. Focus on craft shows and not the flea markets. I enjoyed your video and good luck.

    Nice work. Fast forward is good for me especially the cutting and staining process. I made about 30 of these last year in one month but had to stop, Could not keep up with the orders, but I had fun. Good luck.

    I might suggest a full color larger 3x5 poster sign placed on a easel. This is something you can design and print on a computer then take to a local printer to have enlarged to a poster board. Also some basic inexpensive business cards will help. When giving out business cards always give, one for the person and on for them to share.

  • @RickSawDesigns
    @RickSawDesigns2 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the feedback. I did get some business cards but held off on the poster board at this point. Makes sense to get some signage going forward for sure.
