    Just a regular alternating swing? What is the catch? I mean swings aren't bad either, do them regularly, but mainly feel in the lower back. Absolutely have to augment these with upwards pulling&pushing action to help kuzushi and lifting throwing, e.g. clean and press, upright row/high pull to overhead press, hang muscle snatch

    I know and do a lot of kettlebell stuff, but that was new exercise for me, thank you! My right shoulder hurts to even watch this 😆but left side feels good after trying, this is exactly what I should have been doing to strengthen rotator cuff muscles to prevent injuries 💪 What weight are you using there?

  • @dannykarapanchev
    @dannykarapanchevАй бұрын

    Oh, haha, yes it looks hard for the shoulders, but it is really good, because you use the full range of motion of the shoulder joint. Actually I use this exercise to warm up my shoulders before judo training. I don't know what weight i will use if I do the exercise like a workout. I'm considering to upload more videos with kettlebell workout, that can be useful for judo. 🥷

    How do you measure resistance of your bands, or was it stated by vendor? I have my band (or actually tubing) with unspecified (or forgotten) resistance rating, tried doing this with it and it felt hard enough 🥵out of curiosity i had to measure the resistance by looping it around kettlebells to see the length increase. At 16kg it was a bit under 2x increase, at 20kg a little over 2x. So i presume it is 18kg for a single loop (round trip), or 9kg if one way. With 40kg measured this way, i'd probably die before i managed to do a single rep😟am i so weak? Pls tell me i did my maths wrong😅

  • @dannykarapanchev
    @dannykarapanchevАй бұрын

    They are stated by vendor. I bought it from Decathlon before many years. But know I notice that the colors are different weigh then before. But I think that your method must be multiplied by 2. Because on my bands I can attach 20 kg, but from vendor is 40 or 35kg I am not sure.

    Bands, kettlebells, bulgarian bags, free weights, landmine! Grappling dummy is probably something not many of us have access to, and I may be wrong but i feel they're not very useful for judo due to their lack of gi and not having upper body anywhere close to anatomical. Mainly suitable for training ura-nage, and maybe ippon seoi to some extent.

  • @dannykarapanchev
    @dannykarapanchevАй бұрын

    Yes, I am agree, that not many people have access to grappling dummy. Actually I dress the dummy with my gi and do a lot of throws like ogoshi for example. I love to use grappling dummy, because it doesn't feel pain, so I can do explosive and powerful throws 😂 But yes it's not like a real partner. I'm considering to do a lot of videos with kettlebell and bands. Maybe and Bulgarian bag.

    How tall are you and in which weight class do you compete ? I am 1,78-1,80 (and almost a 100 kilos) which is tall in my country and while I love clean traditional technique I feel that many coaches try to emulate the japanese ideal which is not always the best approach for fatter players like me haha so I am thinking in investing in your course. I was a referee before, but this is not mine. I don't like it. I like and love to teach judo. When I see the spark in the eyes of my students, this is everything. You are absolutely right. The japanese judo style is not for everyone. Everybody is a different person. You have to feel your body and find what is best for you. I am a Bulgarian boy with russian style of Judo. With these new rules you need to stop calling it Judo and start calling it clown wrestling. The difference is that in kata guruma you grab the leg. Judo has become complete joke. Here's a tip. If you morons want Judo to be a spectator sport, don't restrict leg grabs, allow face punch. Spectators want to see knockouts. Here's another tip, Judo will never be a spectator sport, by changing it all you can do is ruin it. Either way, it's no longer Judo.
