Stacey Here We Grow Again

Stacey Here We Grow Again

Hello and welcome to my channel! My name is Stacey and my husband's name is Mike. We have 3 french bulldogs named Bam Bam, Pebbles and Fiona and we live in Central Florida Zone 9b.

I'm a grower and plant collector that loves to help others when the growing gets tough. I love to try and make gardening just a little bit easier on all of you with the experiences I've learned over the years, so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I grow and collect both indoor and outdoor plants like succulents, cacti, air plants, many different varieties of house plants, vegetables, herbs and much more!

There is so much beauty in nature if we just take a little look around. I truly appreciate every single one of you and wish you great success in your growing adventures. I couldn't keep doing these videos if it wasn't for you watching and really wanted to thank you from the bottom of my pots!🦋🌱

    Hi Stacey! Thank you for doing this video. My Citronella is only about 2 months old, I bought it from Lowes. Actually, I bought 2. When you say before the mosquitoes come out, to spray the plant, I'm assuming just with a spray bottle and plain water. We have well water with many minerals, so usually as long as I remember to water them, my plants do well. You told me how to propagate, which I need to do soon, they are very leggy already. I'm really just not sure about how often to water and the spraying. Thanks again for a great video. I live in Tennessee 7b.

    I water when the soil is almost dry but I don't let it dry out completely because it'll cause the leaves to droop and stress it. It likes a well draining moist soil medium but not overly saturated as it can cause a mushy stem. As for spraying the plant down, yes, with water, you want to be careful not to do this too often because keeping the leaves wet too often can cause diseases. You can just rub against the plant without spraying the leaves down if you want and it'll have the same effect. I just take a piece of leaf and rub it on my body, or I rub the plants leaves gently with my hands, like petting it almost to release the scent within the leaves. This is pretty effective. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

    Hello, I have a cactus that when I reverse image search says it is a thimble cactus or mammilaria gracilis oruga. I see no green. It looks like a bunch of white puffballs and was spliced onto a vertically growing cactus when my mom originally got it. That part had long died so I cut it off where I knew it woud be dry & thought if I put the white thing on soil it would grow. That has not happened. Can I ask you for some help?

    You’ve given good tips. I’m wondering if my mammoth sunflower is ready to harvest. As it was being filled in by the pollinators, it deformed the perfect round shape.It’s all filled in now, but I saw a pollinator near it. It has been drooping down while still being pollinated, but it stayed in that position as though it’s looking down at my big orange pumpkin constantly. It has been days now since it stopped following the sun. So, I’m unsure. But I do know for sure that I need to check it no later than today thoroughly to see if it needs to be cut down.

    Your welcome 😊 Glad I could help! This was actually the very first video I shared on my channel.. I do things a bit different now but the same methods still apply. I seperate them from the mother plant and plant them by themselves. I just wait for the offshoots to get a little bigger before separating them.. let them dry for a day or 2 and plant them in succulent soil with added drainage material. I like to put a thin layer of bonsai jack rocks on top to avoid rot. I've noticed my hens and chicks do a lot better when the leaves are not sitting directly on top of the soil.

    Hi! I have an issue of small brown spots on my crassula gollum. The leaves are falling off and it's just getting worse. I tried a bit of alcohol because I wasn't sure if using a lot would make things worse...so it's okay to use a brush and spread it on all the leaves? I don't know what bug is it, could it be scales? Are any plant pests visible? I tried using a magnifying glass and I still don't notice something more than a spot. I am a complete beginner and I would like some plants to survive in my loft. Can I put diatomaceous earth in the soil for succulents?

  • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
    @StaceyHerewegrowagain23 күн бұрын

    Hi there. It sounds like it's maybe a disease called brown spot which is very hard to fix on these jades/crassula plants I'm not going to lie. It can spread to other plants easily, so I would quarantine it off from any other plants you might have.. I would treat the soil with a little hydrogen peroxide to kill off any possible diseases in the soil. Than I'd spray or wipe the leaves down with it too. I don't believe alcohol would work because you said pests are not visible. I only use alcohol when absolutely necessary because some succulents can have a bad reaction to it, not all. Jades seem to do ok with alcohol treatments, but over doing it can cause your leaves to die off. When treating any plants, I would suggest doing it when the heat isn't so intense and the sun isn't out. This way there's no chance of burning. For the hydrogen peroxide treatment I just use a few drops (about a 1/4 tsp per Quart of water). Water thoroughly, only when it's time to water though, you don't want to overwater. Succulents can be a learning curve but once you get the hang of things it'll get easier. Is it in a good well draining cactus and succulent potting mix? Did you add extra drainage material like perlite or pumice to the soil? That's key to healthy succulents. 😊 If your uncomfortable with using hydrogen peroxide you can purchase and use neem oil and spray the leaves lightly with the solution once every 7 days and see if that helps. If the hydrogen peroxide doesn't work I usually like to try the neem oil. Hope this helps! I'm here if you need anything. Sorry your gollum jade is not doing so well. It sounds like black spot to me, not a pest.. but it's hard to tell what it is without seeing the plant. The best of luck!

    Hi, How old were they when you let them free range? I am a new chicken mom in central Florida. My kids are almost 7 weeks old.

  • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
    @StaceyHerewegrowagain25 күн бұрын

    Hi there. I would say about 4 weeks on...I kept the baby chicks in a smaller space, enclosed away from my adult hens until they were old enough and big enough to defend themselves against the flock. I would suggest keeping them totally enclosed outdoors when free ranging just because of all the predators that can pick them up during the day. I never leave babies unattended outside and always check on them constantly to make sure nothing messes with them. They can be a bit vulnerable at such a young age. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for info. How much do you water your propagation

  • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
    @StaceyHerewegrowagain26 күн бұрын

    Your welcome! Thanks for stopping in! I let the soil dry out almost completely to the bottom before watering again. I try not to let it dry out all the way because the leaves will start to wilt. You'll want to water before that happens. How many times a week you water will all depend on the conditions it's growing in or if it's dormant or actively growing.

    I use bt thuricide and spray my plants leaves 1x every 7 days when caterpillars are actively feeding.. I spray following the directions on the product. The amount you mix per gallon will all depend on the brand you buy. I get this one: Southern Ag Thuricide BT Caterpillar Control, 16oz - Pint a.co/d/hnkxADA you can purchase it anywhere you like. Not sure where I said it in the video but I know I mentioned it. This video is a lot older and I do things a little different now. My chickens absolutely love to run under the hose and cool themselves off as I'm spraying their run down. This does not hurt them and they appreciate it (as you can see in this video). Please do not spray any Chickens directly because most of them do not like to get wet. They will come to you if they want to get a sprinkle. 😊 I only do this in the summer when temperatures reach above 85°f. It's important to cool them off a few times a day to avoid heat stress. Thanks for watching! ❤
