It tastes a lot better if you make the dough from scratch and that's how it's originally made. Use coconut cream instead of milk and use 1/2 cup sugar. A full cup of sugar will make it too sweet. Don't crowd your buns or else most of the coconut cream will just sit on top and your buns will then be too dry 👍

I come from a family with 13 kids (I am the 13th by a minute) and my mother made homemade bread daily, any left over the next day was toast for breakfast, on the rare times she had any left over after breakfast she would make this for lunch. Man it was so good. We didn't get it often, but we all loved it. Thanks for the recipe and thanks for the memories.

@@OfficialCookingwithMaryann I don't mind at all... Just means more goodies for me!! 🤣. Wow! That's a lot of snow!! I can't even imagine going through winter seasons like that. Ugh! I bet you are beyond ready for better weather! Ohio hasn't been bad. I can actually do winters like the one we've just had.. cold days and warmer days equaling out pretty much, and if we did get a couple inches, it melted off in a few days. It was pretty nice 🙂, but it was definitely muddy. We had 60+ wind gusts and 30+ sustained winds all day yesterday though. We've (along with a lot of other Ohioans) have been without electricity since 2pm yesterday. Living in the middle of nowhere that means no water or heat either 🙄. We need a wood burner!! It got down to 30⁰ outside last night (55⁰ in the house) and getting down to 40⁰ tonight.. but it only warmed up to 60⁰ inside today, so hopefully it doesn't drop too much colder in here than it did last night. Hopefully the electric comes back on tomorrow, because the temps the following day are 47⁰/28⁰.. been there done that before, and that's uncomfortable for sure.. but we'll survive LoL. The estimated time for restoration from the electric company is March 29 at 11pm... So I'm hoping that is just crazy talk 🤣🤣🤣. I'd still take all of this over snow though 🤣🤣🤣. IMO snow is only pretty in pictures 😉🤣. I don't know why I don't live in the equator somewhere 🤣.
