does the flickering light mean its a failure ? From what I understand, the Pulse 1 will actually cause the 12V battery supply to component to be momentarily disconnected, effectively a power reset ? What would be the criteria failure then ? Thank you
This product's normal function is continuous lighting. When pulses applied, it starts some flickering (unexpected function or performance degradation). When the number of pulses reached a level, the product was not functioning properly nor flickering, the light was off. Since the product is completely damaged, this result is FAIL. If flickering is essential performance degradation, it can be also evaluated as FAIL. Functions and performance criteria has to be defined clearly to assess the test results. Up to a level, performance loss is allowed, if the product's function is not critical for the vehicle. Annex A of ISO 7637-2 defines performance classes: Class A, B, C, D, E and the required performance classes for each pulse type.
