@@Stormerevets When I first got to see them in the 80s and 90s, pulling non-electric passenger cars way out east in Suffolk County, they were long past their prime. But, boy, did they work. Really hard. And, boy, were they loud. Really loud. But they had character all right. Call me nostalgic, but having seen a couple of them sitting idle at Bollings Landing twinges my heart.

the HHP8s are near exactly like the acela(design and operation wise), but they don't have a trainset and are just two acela power cars married back to back

I really like the ALC42s, personally I think they are better than the P42s. The Empire Builder passes by where I live every single day, and most days they will have ALC42s leading. I really like the look of the ALC42s with the Superliners.
