    To all non-surgeon watching there: You won't have these equipment in the field. You can simply wrap bandage or tape the wound and call the ambulance. Haha!

    What about the thing that older (ED) doctors say about "locking" the first knot by pulling the strings both to one side? And also I was taught to pull the knot to one side instead of overlying the wound because the knot can be irritating to the laceration?

    Ive got my national certificate in primary wound closure (peripheral IV also). Possibly a good idea to have the knowledge for basic interupted suturing for those who spend time outdoors with others, a basic kit is inexpensive. Still, practice required.

    I love this! What is the best option for skin closure over joint and tougher skin?

  • @Countryboy071
    @Countryboy07118 күн бұрын

    The same. I'm not sure how much knowledge you have? Cutting needles for skin closure are used instead of tapered (tapered for internal soft tissue). I carry Ethilon black monofilament polyamide in sizes 2/0-5/0 for most cutaneous tissue. Sizes 5-4, finer thread better off for eg. Facial or more delicate areas (also for cosmetics). Mono is good as it has low Friction compared to braid and, unlike braid has stretch which is better for use over joints. Suturing and choice of suture materials can be mind boggling. I've only been trained in primary. Black mono is not absorbable, ability to stretch and would suggest using in the circumstances you mentioned. A reverse cutting needle pack in size 2/0 strong and good for this. Hope this helps ❤

    Hello, which technique you would recommend for a post delivery laceration or a episiotomy. I know you are not an OBGYN but your techniques are clean. Also, explanation is clear and concise Also, I know the technique maybe different for the each layers. The recommended suture/vicryl would be appreciated (a video to this would be good, but whatever I get is kindly appreciated ❤)

    I think the camera should've faced how the surgeon is actually facing the suture. It's the opposite and creates confusion.
