Can someone help with how so we determine the extent from the clinical chart? Do we count each tooth site(in a 6 point chart) with CAL or each tooth as an entity?
this is literally the best video ever! thank you so much!!
Any thoughts on occlusal factors? Is bone loss automatically considered perio disease?

how do you get the perctange e.g. mid apical third is 50%
Thank you .. Great illustration
Excellent presentation. Brief and concise. Good thing to find this at the right time as I am about to take my board exams.🌞
I don't get it, to be grade A the percentage of bone loss/age has to be less than 0.25, so a 80-yeard-ols patient to be grade A, should be expected to have a 20 % bone loss and not a 30% . Am I right?
The BSP Implementation Guide uses higher thresholds so it is 0.5 instead of 0.25 so 30/80= 0.3. Hence, Grade A. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much! You helped me a lot!
Excelent video, it really help me to understand the staging and grading of periodontitis. Very clear, Thanks !!!
Which university you are studying in?
I don't get it, how to determine if the periodontitis is localized or generalized?
based on the percentage of teeth affected by the disease.. eg if there are 32 teeth, and the cut off is 30%, that would bring you roughly to 10 teeth. so if less than 10 are affected by perio , it is localised, if more than 10, generalised
>15 cigs a day, and 7 mm pockets....He’s a stage IV

You are simply... GREAT! I graduated from Dental School 10 years ago and I heard about this new classification. Even though I know I have to go through some literature on the topic, this short video of yours updated me fantastically. Greetings from Chile!
