I was in a school pool with a bunch of friends at like 8 or 9ish. I got to just over my head and could not return and was about to take a big breath of water when my best friend saved my life. Since then water and me don’t get along.

Chicago has a respectably comparable view from I-90 from the north looking south east. I haven't been to new York in years and certainly have never taken it n how big it truly is

Every time you push yourself on a deep dive, unbuckle your weight belt and hold the lose end. If you black out your weights fall off and you become buoyant. This will greatly increase your chances of rescue and survival. I have a clip on my belt for attaching to my float line so I can recover my belt if I jettison it. It’s like having an ejection seat.

What makes hypoxic ("shallow water") blackout so dangerous is that you don’t realize it’s happening until it’s too late . You don’t see it coming ...... Hyperventilation should never be carried out before going underwater !!!
