  I just recently signed to be a mentor because I know how it feels to be a prisoner as I used to be and now God has called me to minister to all the outcasts of the world ! the love of Christ is awesome! and I pray to bring all I can to to submit and accept Christ Jesus!

  I was a mentor, but I would like to mentor again. To either tier 2 or tier 3. I do have a bachelors on Theology with a minor on Bible studies.

  I am a Crossroads prison mentor for religious education. Every week or so I receive another lesson from an inmate. I review the lesson and send a letter back to the prisoner with his lesson. I cannot tell you how this has enriched my life. I have tried in my letters to enrich the life of the and I have also learned much in the process. I am so grateful to God for the door that he has opened for me to Crossroads Prison Ministry.

  I looked forward to the encouraging letters from my mentor with my lessons while incarcerated in California for 3 years and now I enjoy corresponding with my students as a mentor myself and sharing the love and hope in Jesus over these past 5 years. Thank you too all at Crossroads for helping me return to my relationship with Christ after I had walked away and allowing me to share my story with those who want to know Jesus and hunger to read God's Word.

  I had a great conversation with my former Crossroads student, James, on Good Friday. James is now a Mentor and we often have great phone discussions. He brought up the words from the Cross,” My God,my God,why have you forsaken me? “ and how that must have felt. For the first time ever,the Trinity was separated. They were One since the beginning of time. They were One in Creation,They were One in establishing Israel, God’s chosen people. They were One in leading them through the wilderness and into the Promised Land. They were one in agreement to rescue us from Satan’s clutches through Christ’s own blood sacrifice. For the first time,they were separated-God had to turn away from the Son,because of my sin and your sin ! I meditated all day long on the thoughts James shared with me- not new thoughts,but with a different perspective and I was so touched! How James has blessed my life. Believe me,if you are considering becoming a Crossroads Mentor,you too will be blessed beyond measure!

  Hi, Jessy. Crossroads Prison Ministries is not closing. Maybe you are referencing our Canada office, which is currently in transition? Leadership of the former Crossroads extension center in Canada chose to discontinue the Crossroads program and focus their efforts elsewhere. But we are entirely committed to relaunching the extension center in Canada as soon as possible. You can find out more information here: cpministries.org/international/canada

  I worked as a Correctional Officer in Missouri ,a level 5 max prison. All inmates need only two things. A Holy Bible ,KJV. and some Holy Ghost filled Ministers to preach the Gospel. why? only God can change a Heart. And just because your an Officer or Warden does not make you a Good person.or Holy.

  Thank you, Doug, for sharing your story (testimony). Thank you for encouraging those of us who volunteer to share our thoughts, words, and encouragement with the inmates. I often wonder if I am making a difference or just a "Blah, blah, blah!" to the recipients of a letter. Today, God brought me to this page and I am encouraged once again to serve the Lord by serving in ministries such as Crossroads. I have tried to use the experiences of my life, good - or difficult, to share how GOD made a difference in my life and the ones I love with these fellow human beings who are isolated and feeling trapped behind detention center walls. Thank you for allowing volunteers to serve in this ministry with you! I was so encouraged today to continue serving as I watched your video! May God bless the work of this ministry and those who serve as well! Amen! (Hebrews 6:10)
