  My junior high concert choir class is singing this and Battle of Jericho which is also by Moses Hogan. We are doing it for our last choir concert this year. After 27 years, this is our amazing teacher's last year here so we are going big. Rocky Mountain Jr. High will miss you Mr. Saunders 😢

  Thinking of naming my baby Elijah and remembered singing this in hs. Loved hearing it again and well done soprano I remember reaching for those high high notes and having to belt that out. No easy feat. Loves this . Altos really nailed this too

  nope. conductor you gotta do more study and work with the spiritual. first, it's too slow and the intricate rhythms that make this piece exciting are lost.
