  Thank you! I hate to admit that I missed the '86 jam but I was still young and ignorant to anything but pap n rock back then. ;) I suppose I realized that I had grown up when I learned to appreciate something different not knowing how exciting and amazing the old greats are! Sheesh! Was I ever missing out!

  So well stated patricia .. to get the full effect of just what jazz is... its awesome comparing.. Here is a rare segment of Ella in her prime for those who have never seen it. I do dig jazz and thank you for commenting. say did you see the all star jam in 1986 on the grammys.. that was awesome had many jazz greats?

  Ella is the Most!!! But if you like scat singing you might check out Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter, totally different styles.. then of course if you'd like some humour injected try a listen to Cab Calloway, Slim Gaillard,Leo Watson and you gotta hear Bam Brown's 1945 Avocado Seed Soup Symphony!!! Eddie Jefferson, Anita O’Day, Joe Carroll, Carmen McRae, Jon Hendricks, Babs Gonzales, and Dizzy Gillespie and of course Louis Armstrong but Ella is by far the Queen of 'Scat Singing'! ♥
