We started processing mollies this morning. So far, I'm not happy with them. I did set up some small breeding colonies with the best fish, but I think it's going to be a long haul before I'm ready to release them. When we get into the Green Sailfins maybe things will look up. Charles

I like your videos. But, I have been thinking lately, can we identify cichlids into male/females when they are juveniles?

Lake Malawi cichlid juveniles always resemble females. It isn't until the males are 3-4" that they begin to develop male coloration and finnage. Even then, especially with peacocks, some young females show some male coloration. There are invasive means to check sex, but I refuse to take the time and expose the fish to yet another stress to do that. Charles

He worked closely with several other farms, and i had the opportunities to grow up and work on several of the big farms down there.

What I'd like to do is host a fish festival here and harvest some sump and gutter fish and offer attendees and chance at them. Some people have suggested a random scoop of gutter fish to offer online. When we get Greenhouse 3 rebuilt, we'll have adequate vat space to house some of the sump and gutter fish. Maybe we could select some to auction online. Charles
