“Ah, free, at last. Oh, Gabriel, now dawns they reckoning. And thy gore shall glisten before the temples of man! Creature of steel, my gratitude upon thee for my freedom, but the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity, are not forgotten. And thy punishment, is DEATH.” P-1 SOUL SURVIVOR

What is the meaning of "the writing on the wall" in the Bible? What was the significance of this event for Nebuchadnezzar? The writing on the wall didn’t occur in the time of Nebuchadnezzar, but during the reign of his grandson. Belshazzar. God Bless Here is an excerpt from the account as told by the prophet, Daniel: Daniel 5:1 As regards King Bel·shazʹzar, he held a great feast for a thousand of his nobles, and he was drinking wine in front of them. 2 While under the influence of the wine, Bel·shazʹzar gave an order to bring in the vessels of gold and silver that his father Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his concubines and his secondary wives could drink from them… 5 At that very moment the fingers of a man’s hand appeared and began writing on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace opposite the lampstand, and the king could see the back of the hand as it was writing. 6 Then the king turned pale and his thoughts terrified him, and his hips shook and his knees began to knock together… 13 So Daniel was brought in before the king. The king asked Daniel: “Are you Daniel of the exiles of Judah, whom my father the king brought out of Judah? 14 I have heard concerning … 17 Daniel then replied to the king: “You may keep your gifts and give your presents to others. However, I will read the writing to the king and make known its interpretation to him. 18 As for you,… 23 … But you have not glorified the God in whose hand is your breath and all your ways. 24 So the hand was sent from him, and this writing was inscribed. 25 And this is the writing that was inscribed: MEʹNE, MEʹNE, TEʹKEL, and PARʹSIN. 26 “This is the interpretation of the words: MEʹNE, God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end. 27 “TEʹKEL, you have been weighed in the balances and found lacking. 27 TEʹKEL, you have been weighed in the balances and found lacking. 28 “PEʹRES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and the Persians.”… 30 That very night Bel·shazʹzar the Chal·deʹan king was killed. Related How do you respond to the argument that 'Daniel was written after the fact' which goes against biblical prophecy? I would respond that the court tales of Daniel 1-6 were written “after the fiction”, since they contain numerous historical errors and are unlikely to have any factual historical basis. When it comes to the four visions of chapters 7-12, these are indeed written after the fact, with the exception of 7:13-15, 18, 22, 27 (predictions that Judah would rule the world) and 11:40-12:3 (predictions of an ahistorical military campaign by Antiochus Epiphanes and the resurrection of the dead). This is because vaticinia ex eventu (prophecy after the event) was one of the standard features of contemporary Hellenistic oracular literature and second century BCE Jewish apocalyptic, as was pseudonymity. I would also question the implied definition of “biblical prophecy” as the miraculous prediction of distant events. In fact, prophecy in the Hebrew Bible is typically directed towards the contemporaries of the prophet in question, offering hope for the future and/or condemnation of present injustices. In fact, this is precisely what the book of Daniel attempts to do, encouraging resistance to the murderous persecution experienced under the reign of Antiochus IV, urging faithfulness to the point of death, and promising divine judgment upon the oppressors along with the future peace and security of the nation. USAIN EVERTHING IS SPED UP Sit up EXCELLENT GLORY
Related What do you think about the “evidence” that Daniel was written before 167-164 BCE? Um, what difference will it make? We know that many parts of the Bible have been written at various times and places by lots of different people, heavily edited, culled, mistranslated, picked over, approved, and generally turned into literary sausage multiple times. If the Book of Daniel was written down at one time versus a few centuries before, I’m not sure what ultimate difference this will make, as it’s still going to be literary sausage.
To me it doesn't hinge on its historical authenticity. I think too often we look at ‘prophecy’ as if it is just an upgraded form of fortune telling. People have been trying to use Daniel to predict the future for over 2,000 years just as they’ve been using Revelation (which is rooted in Daniel) to try and read the End Times into things (e.g. coronavirus and the fear of mandatory vaccinations as the mark of the beast). It’s not difficult to read things into a text. Did a donkey or a snake really talk? Did all the animals fit on Noah’s boat? Did Joshua really stop the sun? Did Elijah really fly up into the sky on a chariots of fire? If none of these were ‘historically’ true how would it impact your faith? Since the Scriptures were (and continue to be) read to make sense of the life of Christ, does that mean they ‘predicted’ him or does that mean they were extrapolated to understand him? After all, for as many verses from the Scriptures that are used to ‘predict’ Jesus, there are many that don’t. Does that make them any less true? NO YOU'RE FROM OZ Darlene Zschech
Related How do Jewish scholars regard the book of Daniel in the scriptures, given that some names are incorrect. For example, Darius the Mede did not exist, said Professor John J. Collins. If many facts are incorrect Is the book still of religious value? In general - the book of Daniel is included in the Writings, not among the Prophets. It is therefore in a category best described as ‘inspiring writings’, the product of human authors. Some consider it to be POSSIBLE that Daniel is a prophet, but if so, the consensus is that his prophecy (assuming it is there) won’t be clear until the End of Time and Judgement Day. This means that nobody actually thinks of Daniel as a prophet. Children are fond of the story of the Lion’s Den. Many teachers are fond of the parts about how Daniel was upright, good and true, and also brave, and wouldn’t eat non-kosher foods. Upright, Brave and True, and of course, very Faithful, and he Prayed a lot, etc. Daniel is a prophet in the book of Daniel, because he prophesied for the King of Babylon, and that prophecy came true. In other words, it is a book easily mined for simple moral teachings. Since the ‘religious value’ of a Writing involves whether people FIND IT INSPIRING or not, then its factual accuracy is just about irrelevant. It isn’t one of the books of the Writings which is read for some particular holiday liturgy, however - many of the ‘Writings’ are that sort of thing. We read Ruth at Shavuot, and Esther at Purim, and Song of Solomon - I forget. Passover? I could look that up. We read Ecclesiastes at Sukkot, though, I remember that. And of course Psalms are a source of - well - songs. We have a lot of Psalms included in the prayer services. Lamentations is read for Tisha B’Av. We read Jonah during Yom Kippur. Most of the Writings are that kind of material - not prophets, not histories. I don’t know of very many rabbinic scholars that have a major focus on Daniel. It was one of the books that only BARELY made it into the Jewish canon, mostly because it was very popular with most of the people at the time. The scholars on the committee establishing the canon had a difficult time with several books, and Daniel was a squeaker. Song of Solomon was argued in favor by Rabbi Akiva, who declared it an allegory of the love of God for the people Israel. Esther got in - I don’t remember exactly how - God isn’t even mentioned in Esther. It seems to me - simply from a lot of questions from Christians - that Daniel is taken far more seriously by Christians than it is by Jews. 6/9/2024 worship with Ancient of days 🎉🎉🎉
Life has been so hard lately but He is the only reason we are able to go on. My dad was diagnosed with brain tumor last 2 years and 5 doctors said that my daddy won't last for atleast 6 months if the tumor will not be removed. We went to atleast 4 hospitals and they all said the same. Through His grace alone, my dad is still alive and worshipping Christ. My sister (28 years old) who had seizures since we were kids, surrendered her life to the Lord last 2 months. It has been so hard but here we are, still serving the Lord knowing that she is in peace and in heaven, there's no more pain. We miss her so much and life changed a lot when she died. If it weren't for faith and Christ, I don't know how our family would go on.
