    ...that is all great when you are already skilled programmer, but what if you are beginner, how would you then set up your template, because as a beginner you will do more fails than wrtting clean codes in a matter of second? any suggestions?, thank you

    Is it necessary to perform this step in order to create custom dynamo node using python? also if I understood correctly those two locations for module that you have written in first three lines are for like you said organisational purposes?, so what is all in between first two lines of codes and that last one where you typing OUT....? how is that relevant (all thise lines in between to all what you've presented in this video?, sorry if you are going to repeat some staff again but if you could explain little bit more in broader picture how did you set up all that and like break that in smaller parts?

    I was searching for a way to learn how loop node actually works and by your video, I understand the logic behind it. Thank you for uploading it. I was thinking of using looping node for getting analysis results in different situations. to decrease the manual work. I will work on it if I manage to make it I hope I'll update it here.

    Thanks for the video, was super helpful. I'm just curious especially cause of the data size of bigger point clouds, woulnd't it just be easier to set a common zero for the project and then cut it into pieces so instead of creating those layers more ore less export them as their own .rcp-files? If you then just upload into revit what you need it will still all be in the same coordinate system. Or is my method flaud? I dont try to be a smartass here im just curious since im still learning with ReCap^^

  • @TheBIMCoordinator
    @TheBIMCoordinator3 ай бұрын

    There isn't a way to change the selection order far as I know but you can use a different method for getting the order of the selection which is using the connection points and a start and end.

    Thanks for sharing! I know the basics of Python but not well enough to efficiently write scripts. So the other day I asked ChatGPT to write me a script to randomize some names and send out an email. It did a good job and then with my limited knowledge base was able to get it to a spot where it did what I wanted. I'm excited its there to help me out.

  • @TheBIMCoordinator

    Yes, it is a wonderful tool. I use it all the time to update my existing scripts that I haven't had time to update. In the applications I am building, I use co-pilot to speed up my development, but I don't let it write whole functions/methods.

    @@TheBIMCoordinator The information I want to display includes earned value KPIs such as SPI, CPI, and others, which I obtained from schedule tracking in Microsoft Project. I want to make it real-time is that possible?

  • @TheBIMCoordinator
    @TheBIMCoordinator3 ай бұрын

    Idk much about Microsoft Project but if the data is available it should be possible. I connect all sorts of data together across different systems. Sometimes they require different approaches. Like sometimes there isn't an api for direct data queries but there is a way to schedule downloads of Excel, which you can easily tie into PowerBI. It is hard to say though if what you want can actually be done. Good luck! Let me know how it goes for you!

    100% agree Dalton, even with particular options on ACC where it can only be switched on and set once on a project like the ISO-STANDARD NAMING CONVENTION or choosing the main coordination space folder these types of irreversible options on live projects can be daunting if you are not 100% sure of its ramifications and potential impact to a project.

    How about the dyn, can you share that? I'm new to dynamo. And new to revit haha but some of my coworkers are pros in it. My company would be willing to pay for a [something] that can automate the process of extracting smart rooms (or spaces) from 2D cad for use in Revit. We are an MEP firm and a few of our architect clients still use CAD and it's an extremely expensive, time-intensive process to manually do room tags on large buildings

    totally agree!!! do hope factory can hear you. i used ACC and APS for quite some time, having same issues, for instance, you need account admin right to integrate APS app into ACC which is kind of risky before fully tested. for trial version of both ACC and APS, you need to register Autodesk account w/ (new) email address, why not let user using same email address after expired (Autodesk can simply delete all data)? so user won't have to create multiple new (and rubbish) email addresses just for trial purpose.
