    It works for single homes. Do multi floor apartment buildings you will be there all day. Use a probe and toner not that $11 Harbor Freight tool you using.

    Correct. You can use a probe and toner (which I have as well). The purpose of this video was to show how simple it is for the DIY person And you don't need an expensive tool for that.

    First thing I’d add for a second release of this video, at least for people like me, is a suggestion to carry a notepad along and write down the room/test node pairings in order to minimize the chance for human error. Oh, also, have some painters tape & Sharpie available to get the lines temporarily labeled immediately on identification. No reason to risk getting them mixed-up.

    You want to start with the cables that are not connected first. This tool I recommend for jobs where there is less than 10 cables you would need to identify. Anything more than that I recommend a probe & toner set

  • @itstheACE562
    @itstheACE5622 жыл бұрын

    A "Short Circuit" That means 1) that the Coax you are testing is actually connected to a powered device (television, Set-top box, Etc), & it reads SHORT, because it's detecting power in the line. 2) the coax is damaged or cut and somehow, the braid (negative) is making contact with the center conductor (positive); this will cause a short

    A simple coax outlet on the inside of your house can be used for cable or internet right there is no only cable or only internet?

  • @ManguPapi
    @ManguPapi3 жыл бұрын

    It can work for video or internet. If you want a cable tv in that outlet then it'll work for video. If it's for internet, then it'll work for that too. If you want both in that same outlet you'll need a splitter to split the signal for both. One single coax connection can carry video, data, & voice.

    Will this work in the other direction? What I mean is, I’m trying to see how many rooms one outlet feeds for an OTA antenna. So one connection outside the house may work for several rooms with an ota. I aM aware of the signal loss in splitting from an ota. There’s no real way of knowing how strong the signal is until I hook each room up an run a channel scan

    This whole HDCP 2.2 is bull. I have an HDPC 2.2 monitor and computer and I still get an error regardless of the many HDMI cables I've tried. The playback device ought not matter, a recording device is the problem. I can't buy movies. Americans have spent millions of dollars on our high tech devices that we can't use because of Hollywood.

    Just a basic question, looking for help. I just bought a new TV that is HDCP 2.2 and my UHD player is HDCP 2.2 as well. However, my audio receiver is older and only accepts optical input. Will I have HDCP video issues if I use the optical out to my older receiver?

  • @itstheACE562
    @itstheACE5625 жыл бұрын

    The HDMI will take care of both video & sound. The optical audio input just handles sound if you want to run audio separate through surround sound system, however the audio input will not effect the quality of the video. Alot of receivers that i have seen in the field, even 8 years ago, have had HDMI inputs for both video and audio. The only issue you might run into is the voices not syncing with lips properly and/or inferior sound with 4k video

    Here's the truth, IMO. They always keep coming up with reasons for people to waste their money and upgrade. Look at what happened to 3D when they try to push that BS. It was a bust. Same will be with Atmos, just a gimmick. As long as your AVR has HDMI 1.4(around 2013 gear) you'll get 1080P with HD sound. I have news for you 5.1 is still the gold standard. You barely have content is even 7.1. Save your money. You will not be able to tell the difference between 1080P and 4K unless you're a serious gamer or sitting 2 inches away from your monitor. It's not the same upgrade we had when we made the jump to 1080P. I have a 2009 Pioneer Kuro plasma and there isn't anything out there, IMO, that entices me to want to upgrade. Beautiful 1080P picture plus HD sound with my 6 year old Pio receiver. I'm keeping everything till it dies.
