  I fish both of these lochs regularly, there is a big population of smaller pike but there is some big pike hiding in there

  Is this the dee or Loch ken, looks very narrow where you are? We had a boat in Crossmichael and used to go piking up there a lot. It was only when we dead baited trout that we started smashing the pike. The crayfish were a nuisance back then though lol.

  Boat traffic though a bit of a hindrance is actually good for the overall ecosystem. Like the way you cradle the fish in the landing net as you unhook them...Good system....

  I fished there a lot as a kid but not many people fished it back then. Biggest I had was a 12 1/2 out of the small side. Do you know if it gets fished much these days?

  @@BobbleTv the head made it look like it should be about 22lb but the body was empty at the back end. I have had quite a few in the 16lb 17lb range that fooled me into think I had a twenty this year.

  I had a pike very similar to your fish head like a Croc looked to be a 20 lber put her on the scales she only went 16lb 3oz she wasn't skinny either
