Just Alex Podcast

We’re all *just* trying to figure it out. Alex doesn't have all the answers - but, she’s trying to find them (not necessarily the right answers - just answers). Join in as she covers everything from being an expecting mother, relationships, to work, to managing the twists and turns life throws at us. In this lifestyle podcast, you’ll hear from Alex, her bf, her friends/family AND experts who can help guide her (AND you) through life. We’re not meant to go it alone. Let’s do this together. Didn’t have an ultrasound back in the day, and my daughter carried like a boy. Big surprise on delivery! My husband was delighted and then some.

My roommate had stated I had to move out so their daughter could move in. I broke up with him, and he said no move in here. We bickered a little, and I ended up moving in. We've been together for 18 years and have been married for almost 11 years now.

When I was pregnant with my twins I had a tech say “he” at one point then corrected herself later very casually and said she has a son and sometimes accidentally falls into that, then asked if we know the genders yet. We had been sure it was going to be a boy and girl only to find out it was two boys, she saved it by her off handed attitude about her slip up.

My sister thought she was having a boy too but it turns out the baby was sticking up one of her fingers. The way the baby's arm was positioned they couldn't tell at that time it was a finger. They had to go back on the ultrasound to realize what had happened.

My daughter in law who works in a bank had a superior sitting beside her and she was trying to get up to get to the restroom and threw up on her. Morning sickness is so bad for some. She went home that day, but powered through the whole 9 months. She is having a C-Section tomorrow. We are so excited.

I have two babies! My first- I was SO depressed. Like sick time my stomach daily with sadness. Could not understand why. Experienced ZERO postpartum depression, thank God because how emotional I was in pregnancy made me so scared for the postpartum period. Just telling you this so you don't fear postpartum! My second baby, had no depression during or after pregnancy. So also don't let this experience deter you from more kids!

Its out of familiarity. But whats needed is understanding why we think "my way is better," at the same time as thinking "i only know what i know." My partner and i still struggle navigating our relationship bc my family is loud, honest, and says things without regarding the other persons feelings. Some of those are good attributes some arent. My partners family is quiet, passive, and chooses to make you guess why theyre upset and only tell you when no one else is around even if its small. We are working on blending our backgrounds and add other techniques to suit what we both truly need and trying not to react out of familiarity

You know, children don't care where they are.As long as their parents are there with them right? Stop using children as an excuse for your greed and entitlement...

And as someone with kids, kids absolutely do care where they live. They care if they can take baths, play with other kids, have friends over, have a pet, etc..
