Our township is a quaint rural community comprised of small and large businesses, farmlands, beautiful lakes and rivers, parks, walking trails, and recreational opportunities. We offer a full range of municipal services including two community centres (both with ice surfaces and meeting rooms), a Public Library, Fire Department, Public Works, Planning and other services. We are home to the Morton Community Healthcare Centre, Wildfire Golf Club and the Warsaw Caves and other wonderful businesses and services. Implementation of U.N. Directive Programs through Sustainable Peterborough In the spring of 2012, the City of Peterborough, the County of Peterborough, its eight Townships, and the two First Nations adopted the Greater Peterborough Area Community Sustainability Plan, which Sustainable Peterborough administers. According to Sustainable Peterborough's Strategic Plan, this NGO is focused on "implementing and tracking progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals" in our community and created the Climate Change Action Plan 2.0. The Township of Douro Dummer officially partnered with the ICLEI-affiliated NGO Sustainable Peterborough on April 3, 2012, through Council Resolution Number 132-2012. We believe the Councils of the City of Peterborough, the County of Peterborough, its eight Townships, and the two First Nations that adopted the Greater Peterborough Area Community Sustainability Plan are only partially aware of the potential disadvantages of adopting this plan and its related partnerships. Disadvantages of Agenda 21, Agenda 2030 and Net Zero by 2050 Policies There are some downsides to adopting the Partners of Climate Protection Program (PCPP) and other U.N. directive programs. The PCPP works with local authorities to develop Municipal Plans to achieve net zero goals, sustainable development, and other U.N. objectives. However, these plans can have some negative impacts, such as: Targeting privacy rights, mobility rights, property rights, water rights, and energy security. Limiting severances based on arbitrary provincial mapping. Driving population growth to specific "settlement areas." Reducing population growth in smaller municipalities. Reducing tax revenue and services in smaller municipalities and Increasing population in larger municipalities, leading to housing, healthcare, homelessness, mental health, crime, and drug addiction crises. It's crucial to note that the FCM (Federation of Canadian Municipalities) and the Government of Canada do not bear any responsibility for the program. Once adopted, the council will be asked to endorse private sustainable development goals. These goals divert public funds and assets to private development purposes and foreign investors, all under the guise of 'saving the planet.' Councillors who oppose the U.N. directives may face repercussions for not aligning with the program's goals and ideology. Additionally, municipal staff, committees, and councils will need to allocate their time and wages to analyze, report, review, endorse, and implement U.N. directives. During the public consultation process on municipal plans, surveys are conducted to gather the public's opinion on sustainable development. The survey presents various options, and the public is asked to select their top three sustainable development action items. In this process, local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are partnered with ICLEI are considered key stakeholders and are included in the consultation process. This may lead councils to believe that the public supports the endorsement and implementation of this sustainable development agenda. Learn More About U.N. Some of the Douro/Dummer council belong in the dark ages.. only 2 councillors trying to move the township ahead..If you don’t own an ATV why would you even voice an opinion on it? You are going on hearsay only and apparently that is what Douro/😢Dummer Council is all about hearsay.The police are paid to patrol the township, so it would not be extra..If 10 year old kids are riding on the roads, that would be the parents responsibility, not council or do some of you think you can tell parents how to raise their .kids. The county after extensively researching opened roads so that people on Atv’s can now purchase gas, food, and other items in little stores off the grid. To bad for the residents of Douro that own machines…

100% agree, this is complete madness.....especially when the hospital numbers show more injected than non injected in attendance..... we will lose valuable experience and knowledge and I would rather have that show up at my burning house or during an emergency than worrying about if they have had an injection or not. Good grief we are doomed by the fear mongering agenda. We have presented our concerns as citizens of this community prior to this meeting, obviously to no avail. This decision is very concerning and I expect will have very serious effects on our community during real emergencies...

Rules are rules. Why make an exception? An applicant who cannot follow the rules should inspire no faith that the rules will be followed in the future.
The lakes do not need more boats or boaters especially unqualified boating. There is no enforcement at all on the lakes. Casual boat operators do not have the required certification. Accidents are sure to increase.
Visitors need to abide by the campfire restrictions just like all property owners.
