Ralph is the embodiment of understated class. Been wearing Polo since my Mom bought me a white button down oxford in 1967 when Polo was first introduced at Marshall Fields in Oakbrook, Illinois. Remember that day like it was yesterday.

Charlie Rose is and will forever be a "Legend". There is know-one person that has his interviewing talents and abilities. If you were "Someone Important/Movers and Shakers" of the world, to be interviewed on the Charlie Rose Show meant that you have "Made-it" as a success in whatever they do or have done. Nothing will change that fact!!! 🌹

1989 I was in New York taking some students out on a trip and one said I might get married if I wore Ralph Lauren. I was 31 and rather than seeing myself as over the hill fashion wise thought this was the time in life when i should be spending most on clothes and already bought a few designer things but not Ralph Lauren which I thought maybe top pricey and a bit conventional. I thought the student's comment well intentioned but didn't actually I think ever buy anything and rarely if ever saw anything of his in second hand shops. I did buy a couple of Ralph Lauren type sweaters a couple of years ago when I did a present exchange in a high street shop I dont often buy things from but now both are almost literally in shreds. 2013 I had a birthday voucher for Bloomingdales and although I didnt buy anything Ralph Lauren - I spent half the first year and half the next year - his was otherwise the only designer whose name I recognised whose clothes I recognised. It maybe got back to normal towards the end of a few visits I made a few years ago.
