  If you are 6'5 any flight is gonna be tight for you. I'd recommend selecting a seat in the exit row or upgrading to economy plus if you want extra comfort. But, for a 6 hour flight, you'll survive.

  Basic economy is not a class of service but a restrictive ticket. No wonder people are confused. You don't have to announce you are basic economy, it just means you don't get to preselect a seat(you got lucky, they typically try to switch someone who isn't on basic for that seat, I know it happened to me), you cannot check a bag, no carry on, no changes or cancelations.

  Thanks for a great video! Icelandair really is a budget airline! I was amazed to see they actually removed a galley and had a couple of middle rows in between the lavatories 😫 Not a fun way to fly 😅

  Having to ask for hand sanitizing wipes is a little inconvenient, but it saves on needless landfill waste as many don't get used. Same goes for other items that are not always used. But for items that are always used or almost always used, I think you have a point.

  I highly recommend investing in a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones or earbuds. I had a crying baby on my last flight and could barely hear it. Also, the noise cancelling really helps drown out all the loud engine noise.

  Haha I usually cheat and put it behind my legs so I have more room in front of me. If the FAs ask I’ll put in in front of me during takeoff/landing.

  Love this airport. Very easy to get in and out of. I like the amenities in Terminal 2 better. I usually fly out of Terminal 1 which is pretty crammed if I am honest and doesn't have as many good options. They even used to have a small duty free stand after security in Terminal 1 but I guess they dropped it?

  On the Delta flight, I saw on the screen that you were on ship no. 3761. I was on that exact same plane on my last flight! Unique Skyteam livery on that one, but unfortunately the paint’s kinda looking tired these days. Hope that one gets a repaint, and possibly new seats. The Delta IFE is the best even with the older less responsive systems on some of the 737-800s, and it’s even better when you get one with the newer seats! I do appreciate the large space under Delta’s seats, especially to fit a full backpack under there. I agree, Alaska has the best leg room, and that’s due to their deal with seating manufacturer Recaro which produce lighter, slimmer seats that don’t compromise on comfort. American’s IFE had by far the best selection of movies, even though they operate on a bring your own device system, but their leg room looked miserable! United was just completely garbage in this comparison.

  Wow you know a lot! That's cool that you flew on the same delta flight, was planning to maybe make a trip report from that but maybe the flight was too long ago and I already have many Delta reviews. I think DL and AA have the best movie selection and Alaska has the best legroom for sure.

  I prefer seats with less cushion, yes I know. But the seats with too much cushion don't support your body and it's uncomfortable.

  Oh what a change in National Airport from 1967 til now. I remember having lunch in the Washingtonian restaurant, which was in the original main building (on the outside was written "Washington National Airport". I remember flying in and out of National on Eastern Airlines, Northwest Orient Airlines and United Airlines.

Speaking of short to medium haul flights I recently flew Vietnam Airlines around Asia and was quite impressed. Full service, hot meals and overall quite decent service.

  Thanks for making this video. I moved to Austin a year ago from Lubbock so I’ll be flying out of the Austin airport for the first time in a few days. This video really helped give me an idea on how the airport looks inside. This airport looks slightly bigger than Preston Smith Airport in Lubbock in my opinion. Anyway, thanks again

  For Your Information: We just came back from our trip to Italy last June 2023. We bought the First (Business) Class train seats from Italo from Florence to Rome. With Business class, we were allowed to use the Italo lounge while waiting our train to arrive. They had free sodas (in cans), coffee (from the machine), beers (in cans), snacks (bag of chips and cookies) but no sandwiches in the lounge. While on the train to Rome, they just served us either coffee, tea, water or soda and some snacks but again no sandwiches like other video(s) said. Probably because the distance from Florence train station to Rome station was short. To be honest, we were not too impressed and it was not worth to get the Business fares either.

  Okay, thank you. I was in the Prima section so I didn't fully know the business offerings. I think with covid at the time things were also a little different. It's too bad you didn't think it was worth it. What I usually find is on trains business class isn't usually worth it because the cabins are smaller and the seats aren't that much better. I think premium is usually a better deal. This is my experience with trains in China and Italy, I'm sure on other trains the business fare is worth it.
