    I wonder how much the lens matters when shooting at the lower ISO. Have you tried doing the same thing with more modern lenses? Just curious. Great test, footage looks beautiful.

    I think that setting Iris to about f8 will produce sharp images and correct contrast.This may be a basic rule, but I think that shooting at low sensitivity and f8 in a place with a strong light source will produce sharp images with low noise and correct contrast.

    This is what I mean... The result is incredible. You are clearly ready to shoot a film in the style of Godard in the '60s. It really reminds me of Jean-Luc Godard's Alphaville... Amazing!

    @@dm_ch_2022 I highly recommend "Vivre sa vie" (1962); it's my favorite by Godard along with "Je vous salue, Marie" (1985).

    @@malaisinicolas Thanks for letting me know about Godard's films. I have not seen those two yet! I'm in Japan, and it seems that DVDs and Blu-rays of “Je vous salue, Marie” are rare and sell for very expensive prices. I think I can get a copy of “Vivre sa vie”, so I will watch it! thank you!!

    Hi, greetings from Argentina. I have a curiosity: which plugin do you use to achieve this color grading and film damage effect? Honestly, each video is a delight, you do it very well. This particular video reminds me a lot of "The Devil, Probably" by Robert Bresson. You achieve very interesting results.

  • @dm_ch_2022
    @dm_ch_2022Ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. This video was shot by imitating a cut from a Bresson film! As for color grading, I used this video's method as a guide. kzread.info/dash/bejne/rIBlzZd8d5u8qbQ.htmlsi=n51Kavi9NlhgMo4e This is what we use for film grain. blindusk.com/products/16mmgrain

    @@dm_ch_2022 How timely! I hit the mark, then. I'm a big fan of Robert Bresson and I'm very happy to have nailed it in your video, as it indicates that you're very close to emulating him. Thank you so much for your recommendations! Last night, after a lot of research and reading comments on your videos, I came across Dehancer Pro. I ended up buying it and I'm really happy. I took my "little" Sony a6300 with a 50mm f/1.8 to a level I never thought possible. Again, thank you! I had made attempts before, but they always looked very artificial, whether due to the halation, the film breathing, or the damage, which was totally repetitive and meaningless.
