Family Things & More

Our channel is about a mom with 2 teen girls who are starting to take a step back from making videos. The good news is that dad is very much interested in stepping up and being in more videos. Our videos are doing what we do best, cooking, baking, talking about life. We will share with you the seasons, the blessings and the lessons as we navigate this thing we call life. Making the most of our time together whether we are in the kitchen, car or garden. We enjoy keeping the traditions of our cultures and teaching the next generation. We are a biracial family of Italian and Guyanese (Indo-Guyanese/Amerindian/Portuguese)decent, and have an interesting take on life. Join us as our daughters grow, as we nourish our bodies with homemade flavors and have fun doing it.

    An also i forgot to mention to u the recipe i gave u i made 24/6/24 i doubled the recipe so maybe that sank my cake im not sure so next time il double recipe 2 cup flour and 2cup sugar etc etc an use 1× 28cm round springform pan to bake wats your view : original recipe u need: 1 cup flour i used 2 cup flour an u need 1 cup sugar i used 2cup sugar etc etc an i baked using 1 round springform pan 26cm , on 24/6/24 , other than that il try your advice henceforth, but i do need to know how do i know which recipes make small cake and which recipes make large ,cake the recipe which i gave u i thought it make large cake, therefore i used my glass square pyrex dish/ tray ,( big tray) assuming for well risen an nice soft light fluffy cake i dont size but i know it holds over 2 litres water under 3 litres water but it was flat cake an it was dry cake : i never knew its going to turn dry and i never knew its going to be flat so how much cups flour an sugar etc etc does a recipe need to be large cake ( big cake not tooooooooo big an small not soooooooo small) , wen i bake cakes i do prefer little but not toooo little cake and i prefer alot cake but not tooooooooo much ,that its going to take 2 to 3 week to finish so how much flour etc etc

    You see I stil dont know in baking which changes are allowed an which aren't anyways so the very 1st time I made this ( I forgot date) but the 1st time I made this I went according to recipe, meaning , the sugar I used normal, I'm not sure if changin sugar lead to sinked cakes , , I'm not sure if changin sugar leading to other issues , but I feel no , but not sure so I did use normal wen recipe calls for castor, not just for this recipe, anything an for vinalla essence , which ever recipe I used I never saw 3 teaspoons vinalla essence and not more so wen I got this recipe, I felt its sooooo much so I used 1 or 2 teaspoon vinalla essence not more than that , once again I'm not sure if reducing vinalla essence impact cakes , an for salt , my age 28/9/1989 , I'm baking for past 15 to 20 years so I was sooo much younger then an I decided to bake, obviously that time I used another choc cake recipe an I did add salt but i dont seem to taste salt , I just dont seem to know why something is added wen taste isn't visible be it now or before , so ever since then be it age 20 or 30 or now 34year , I just don't add salt ,I feel salt don't impact cakes or maybe, I'm just not sure , irrespective recipe I use I dont add salt, other than that are for cocoa , I love sweet stuff , like really if I have something in my presence il finished soooo quick, but it shouldn't be dry, shouldn't be heavy an shouldn't be bitter, it must be light and mus be spongy and mus b fluffy an mus be sweet ( I don't eat bitter so I don't like bitter) even dark chocolate I don't eat , I don't like, so coming back to cocoa , I always thought cocoa everywhere is same , taste same, I never knew certain cocoa is darker than others so wen I baked for first time , obviously I dont remember recipe I used but I know I used coco as stated in recipe, not knowing il end up with bitter cake , so I made batter and baked an cake turned toooo bitter that none of family wanted it so ever since then wen I make chocolate cake I ( adjust) reduce my coco ( I gues the recipe I forward to u I made in February 2024 for the very 1st time) so that time I never added salt and I decrease coco feb 2024 , I always reduced coco so I'm not if reducin coco affects cakes , other than that I went according to recipe even I boiled water but I'm not sure if water affect cake so I use tap water , do you think coco affects?

    @@mehjabeenjable3632 so I just looked up why we add salt to a cake recipe, it enhances the flavour and it helps with the texture of the cake. It assists with the gluten, so maybe add the salt next time and see if it makes a difference. Also when mixing the flour, you just mix until combined, that could be the the problem too

  • @mehjabeenjable3632

    Hopefully you will assist me better now with recipe u see the thing is regarding baking I knew certain things like u need room temperature wen not using it impact cake so I use room temperature good and same applies to oven temperature as I explained an raising agent these laws I know so I don't make changes an I know if I make changes it affects cakes so I don't make changes but others I don't know so il do an then get disappointed, : halaal recipes sameera ebrahim super soft chocolate cake , 2eggs separated an 4tsp vinalla essence and half cup boiling water an half cup oil an 1 cup flour and 1 cup castor sugar an pinch salt and 2 teaspoon baking powder an quarter cup cocoa

  • @mehjabeenjable3632
    @mehjabeenjable363223 күн бұрын

    Actually I'm stil not able to know wats the issue but its definitely not regarding raising agent as I know incorrect raising agent impact cake an old raising agent impact cakes too so that's not the issue in my case , an I always use 180 degrees even wen its indicated otherwise so temperature isnt issue also for me an as far as mixing is concerned people says dont mix but then how will the flour disappear, a person cannot place dough / batter in oven wen flour is visible so I'm not sure how it works as certain recipes batter is supposed to b sooooo thick so u need to stir, without stirring u wont get texture that dough/ batter needs to be so maybe I'm over mixing I'm not sure as I don't know how to know wen dough is being overmixed so its definitely something else

    @@mehjabeenjable3632 so this is what I found when I googled why a cake might sink Your cake is often subject to sinking in the middle due to various factors, including inaccurate oven temperature, excessive or insufficient leavening agent, overmixing of the batter, or premature opening of the oven door. Moisture loss or incorrect ingredient ratios may also play a role
