Dallas Cowboys' logic: Premise #1: Philadelphia was America's first capital; Premise #2: The Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia; Premise # 3 The US Constitution was signed in Philadelphia; Premise # 4: The National symbol for America is the Bald EAGLE. THEREFORE The COWBOYS are America's Team. 😦😫😕😵💫🥴😮💨

Being from Boston when I was 7 in 1980 and my grandfather sat me down during the NFC title game vs the Eagles. He said " Bryan this is Americas team as well as Gods team as well as mine and now they are your team " and they were till about 86 when the decline of the cowboys as well as the incline of my local Patriots came. But those 6 years were amazing times even though the cowboys kept on falling short in the early 80's.

How fitting that the Cowboys playoff run involved victories over teams that cost them two Super Bowls (Pittsburgh), probably cost them two others (Green Bay, 1966 and 1967) and possibly cost them a fifth, Philadelphia in 1980.

They won their 3rd SB despite Jerry Jones and his ego. If Jerry just put his pride aside and worked it out with Jimmy Johnson, they'd have won 4 straight... and maybe even five in the 90's.

Cowboys were LOADED for decades. Once Landry departed (Dallas fans know the circumstances. The only thing constant is change itself) it rolled into Jimmy Johnson. Again, Cowboys fans know what transpired (Switzer won SB30 with Jimmy’s team) and downhill since. My favorite all time athlete is Emmitt Smith. Invited Landry and Randy White to my wedding. Was told it wouldn’t last so weren’t coming😂 And ya know, they were correct!

I noticed that catch by Butch Johnson too. He caught it by diving but was not touched before he decided to release the ball from his hands. Today that would be a fumble. Maybe back then the rule for what classifies has a catch and full possession was different. then again maybe the ref was inept.

I realized later that Dorsett was the Cowboys first diva.Diva. And to me, it's a damned shame that it took the HOF so long to put Drew in. It really makes me mad that there are still great Cowboy's players from the 70s that won't get in, just like there are players from other teams that won't. Since I come from a military family, my idol as a kid was Roger Staubach. He won the Heisman when I was a boy, then after serving during 'Nam, (which my dad and brother did) he joined my favorite team! Could you imagine him playing today? They'd not only LET him run, they'd LOVE for him to run. And with the accuracy of his Jump Pass, I'm betting coaches today wouldn't try to break him of that habit, too. If only we could find another QB with his competitive fire; Micah has that same fire!

The Cowboys won off of talent alone. The thing is if the Cowboys lost to the Giants game at home that would have been it for the season. They would have lost 3 straight and at 11-5 even if the 49ers lost to Atlanta their psyche would have been damaged beyond repair. Still Kevin Williams made that diving catch on 3rd down and the Cowboys got into field goal range and won the game. The Falcons beat the 49ers in the last game of the season, the Cowboys had to beat the Cardinals for home field advantage in which they did, and the rest is history.
