    What is the story with this echo? Did you buy it new? How long have you had it? What are your driving habits and oil change intervals? What oil do you use.

    It's my wife's high school car. We are both 39 now. She got it when it had 6,000 miles on it. In 2023 the engine had 352k miles and was burning 1/2 qt every 500 miles. It mostly lived on supertech 5w30 its whole life. I did a engine overhaul series with a separate junk yard motor Im currently installing and should break her in this year 2024. My plan is to give it a second life of 300k+ miles. If the engine rebuild proves worthy, Ill repaint the car in 2025.

    Fyi, dont just pull on the plastic, there are 2 screw that go underneath the climate control knob, and the direction of airflow knob. For the people that didnt already take out those screws

    I got confused on the lock unlock position on the exhaust camshaft. He keep mentioning the unlock written on the gear as locked

  • @MakeItMike
    @MakeItMike13 күн бұрын

    I just labeled it to clear the confusion. All you need to do is torque it while it's "unlocked" or you can break the internal lock pin. Once torqued. You can twist it until it's clicks into locked position.

    They need to do an online video on how to use the website, If you are looking for something their search engine is 1985ish. I ordered parts for a car that was a manual transmission and got parts for an automatic. It seem if it mattered they would have ask. but they did not. If you look for "engine mount" the website won't work you have to do single word searches IE mount.

    What is the size of that head bolt socket? I got a 10 mm 12 pt or bi Hexagon but it does not fit. I think it might be 8 mm bi-hexagon. I want to confirm if anyone knows. Thanks

    Такая же фигня - Аксела 2013 БЛФВ , из Японии ... Получается - со временем , обшивка расширяется в размере и отламывает крючок .Даже , если бы их (крючков) было 4 ,вырвало бы снизу или ,вообще - лопнула приборная доска (у меня , сверху разошлась ). Надо , видно , снимать напряжения в обшивке , прежде чем можно заклеить .Вы пошли радикальным путем , но ,тем не менее - разумным и эффективным ! 🏆👍

    Gotta ask yourself, why you are getting drips of oil underneath but dry oil by the valve cover gasket. Looks like oil pan and/or rear main seal. Don't use RTV unless two sections of gasket meet.

    Very nice detail re Echo engine disassembly/reassembly. Great advise regarding oversize pistons from Safety Auto products. Mike my only comment is make sure when you always state units on your measurements (ie english or metric units). Otherwise bravo on a wonderful series of videos. I am currently rebuilding my 295K mile echo. Burning 1 qt oil every 500 miles. The videos have been valuable.
