  Actually All faults go to Sentinel Prime. He broke the trust of humans. In one and two, autobots could actively protect Earth. They coordinated with human and earned the trust. But Sentinel Prime broke the trust by betraying Autobotos. Therefore the entire world was about to be finished. Before that, there were no problem with them. In fact they were becoming a very strong military asset for humans. From then Humans started to doubt the presence of Autobots. And Megatron took this chance even after his death.

  The fact that Bucky's fighting capability was useless against Tony proves the difference between Him and Cap. Bucky was a threat to Cap in winter soldier because of his metal arm which was too strong and durable to Cap, but before someone stronger, he was just useless.
