i have the same hard disk . and i have the SAME other one but the only diff is with the blug . so . one just like that in the video and the other one is for laptop it have SATA blug but its just exactly the same the only diff is the blug . so can i just change the covor between them ? bcs one od them have problem and i want to use the other one as laptop hard disk . anyone can help ?

ya apparently the whole world (other than me) knew Lenovo's USB C charging ports were crap when I bought mine 3 years ago. Why do I always discover this stuff after the fact I ask myself? As far as repairing it goes, thanks but no thanks. I'll try another brand next time.

Just did this on my two T480 s. Quite fiddly, but it works. I did not use paste but regular solder. Hardest part was to clean out the holes.

Bonsoir à tous, je suis très inquiet et je voudrais avoir votre vision. A l'instant je travaillais sur un DD LAcie 4 TO STFR4000800 encore sous garantie. Jamais aucun soucis lorsque tout d'un coup sur un mauvais mouvement il s'est débranché. Il n'est pas tombé j'ai en ai toujours pris soin. Sauf que suite a ce débranchement sans prévenir il clignote en continu et ne monte plus sur le mac. Horrible sensation car je sais que c'est fragile mais de la a tout perdre juste parce que il s'est débranché sur une fausse manip de gestuelle . Selon vos expériences pensez vous que c'est irréversible ou y'a t'il des solutions ? j'ai essayé avec un autre cable mais rien ... Impatient de lire vos avis sur ce sujet . MErci à la communauté

Have same Toshiba case, I've had absolutely zero success opening it as shown with this tool (or similar). It appears so simple to remove on videos, what am I doing wrong ?? Thank you

I have open it with a sort of Stanley knife blade. It's important to give a little pressure on the case. Good luck!

@@marven83 Thank You !! The "tick of doom" ended up an easy fix, seems the power cord fell out of the USB hub. Once plugged back in, ticking stopped & drive was detected 😊

disregard previous comment and request, i located the whole main board at ebay, but it would have been nice to spend only 5 or ten bucks compared to the 40 i paid for the board, i just dont trust my soldering skills honestly

can you please advise where to acquire the micro usb component , i am unable to locate one, my only option is to buy a used whole hard drive and unsolcer the microusb component , any help would be greatful, also what pastes and release pastes did you use, thank you, this is exactly the issue i am having, i cant plug in a usb cable because that item broke off

Melting the studs into place, this is in my 20 years of repairing laptops and phones, tbh the most retarded, and anti-consumer/anti-repair method of assembly I've ever seen. Acer really gave their customers the middle finger with this one.. There is absolutely no reason they couldn't have used screws for this, it wouldn't have made it any thicker, it wouldn't have made it anymore expensive, there is no way for acer to justify this...
