Welcome to my Video Chanel. Here you will find playlists associated with specific cameras, technical reviews, short travel videos and instructional projects connected with all areas of photography and videography.
I'm extremely passionate about creating content that will be useful in allowing new users to digital cameras to get the very best from them without going overboard with too much technical information. Where this might be needed I try to make this as easy to understand as possible.
My reviews are totally unbiased and I try to explain the good and not so good features in the product and I put myself in the shoes of someone perhaps thinking of purchasing that product.

Excellent review as always Graham
Great video Graham - Thank You!! You are looking and sounding good my friend!!
Excellent demonstration Graham.👍
I bought a keep alive device for a Power pack to run a UV led strip for a moth trap. Done a few runs at home and it worked fine. Set it up at work and connected the pack at 5pm which was also attached to a dusk/dawn sensor. All worked as should when I left. But when I arrived this morning to check the trap it's like the keep alive device had switched off. Is there a time slot that it will probably switch off without being used? It sat for probably 5 hours before it needed to come on. Thanks
Bravo greatly appreciated the interesting testing.
Thank you!
Amazing explanations for basic understanding of the camera. I just purchased one July 2024 🤩. Keep up the great videos 🙏🏽
Gimbal!
of course! my brain fog.
you probably should have looked up how to spell gimbal before posting.
British education! Most Brits today can't even write or speak a simple grammatical sentence in their own language after a dozen or so years of compulsory education. Shocking!
Great info. Osmo 2 here I come.
Good choice!
Nice review! What is a good Gimble for the Panasonic FZ1000ii?
I have managed to mount and balance my FZ10002 on the Feiyutech AK2000C and the Scorp Mini 2 but its happier on the larger Zhiyum weebill 3
@@GrahamHoughton12 Thank you.
FZ80 at first seems a good camera but after some time of usage and experimenting turns out that is very mediocre product: no flip/tilt screen, mediocre lens, bad stabilization, very shaky 4K video unusable after 600-700mm handhelded, blurry at maximum zoom. better to save money and invest in some higher end product like Nikon P950, Canon SX70, FZ1000, FZ2500 or micro 4/3 or aps-c system.

11 years later and the quality of this video is great. What did you record on??
Am moving away from powerbanks & moved to AA/AAA Ni-MH battery & use powerbank with them. Lithium batteries are useless & dangerous compared to NI-MH
do you have any recommendations for shutter remote for this camera please?
Eres un genio, gracias
Hi Graham, is the lumix 14-140mm the same system as we can see in you video I also want to clean the front lens, dgreetings Ron from Amsterdam

Vignette is a silent G buddy.
Thank you very much, Mr Houghton, for this excellent series of videos on FZ200. I have recently discovered your channel and did some browsing through the videos and downloads on your website - so many very usefull resources!!! Thanks again for your efforts! I am looking forward to learning from you videos! Many thanks from Boston!
Excellent presentation. A step by step setting that I appreciate. Very good job Sir, thanks for sharing so generously
Wow, Those photos are so much better than those of the crappy canon 40d and 90d. They are alive, those canon photos are dead as a doornail and flat as a pancake. 3mp is more than enough for a youtube video example. Nice camera.
I guess i can only judge color and a little contrast and i`d say to my eye the 40d looks a bit less boring. My guess is that processed from raw they there will be no visible difference. The 90d will have way better resolution though. My thing with the old canon xx line has always been that they bored the hell out of me. Something i can easily see right here again.
Brill vid as usual Graham. I have a Lumix FZ1000 II. using my Samsung A53 on android. With Bluetooth, the image app is useless, and refuses to pair. By shear luck I managed to pair through wi-fi. but wasn't sure how I did it. This vid from Graham, showed me, exactly what I did. But I did have had to put in a password from the camera, on to my phone Now any time I want to use the app, Its just a matter of launching the app, camera turned on, it connects automatically every time. It takes around 15secs to connect.
What abut Canon new on old? 580EII from 5D Mk II on an old Fn if some pins alighn? To use in A automatic thyristor?
Absolutely the best & most concise video pertaining to the MT2 on KZread !
Vert5 nice pictures and video's
My much loved FZ150 no longer works. Would you suggest one of these Lumix cameras as a replacement? Or other suggestion?
OK, so it's been 13 years for the video, but it's strange that the .7x is wider than the .45x! No ?
Thank you Graham, nice video. Please if you can answer, I have one question. If I have the lightning version kit for iPhone 14, will it also work with iPhone 15 USB-C port, using Lightning to USB-C adapter? Because me and my husband have 14 and 15 and we both need a mic, and we are looking for a flexible solution. Thank you again ! <3
I've just bought an FZ200 which was made in China and the image quality is great. I am artist so quite fussy on image quality. Thanks Graham for all your videos on the FZ200. I think it's the best cheap bridge camera around -in 2024 mine was UK £120 with a 2 year warranty. it is definitely better than the Canon SX530 HS at the same price and the FZ1000 is £350 with a 2 year warranty so 3x the price and much heavier. For me the lighter weight and the constant f2.8 lens were the most important features.
Need you Graham. My FZ300 has a screen issue, it's upside down until i flip and lock in place, then ok. The other day i was panning left but the screen panned right, changed the battery all good . I know this is serious, i want to get ahead of it before a major issue
Company has such a bad reputation for build and quality control. Will check the rest of it later stay well
It can't be as bad as Viltrox. I've had a couple of their monitors fail and the return for repair is not worth the cost in my opinion.
It is clear that they are not targeting the premium market. But their monitors are good value for the price (But Viltrox is better). Had the F5 since 3 years. Never had an issue despite few falls.
@@fredr. Fails are a issue
I was able to convert a Lumix DCM-ZS8 with the info from these videos. Mine had the internal filter attached with double sided tape to a thin plastic skirt around the sensor. It can be sliced through with a scalpel or razor blade and the filter removed. This may have put into my head the idea of using some very strong double sided tape to attach the 720n filter to the front of the lens assembly instead of using epoxy or glue. It works very well and I allows me to remove the filter at some point if I’d like to try another. I did get a sacrificial UV filter as suggested to mount first but it would have made a very noticeable circular vignette shadow around the frame.
A small lightweight field monitor with all the features needed for monitoring camera video feeds through HDMI.
Amazing video! Thanks for highlighting that the iSteady v3 has issues in sunlight for the tracking! No one else has covered this. I did have a few questions comparing this to the Insta360 Flow Pro (if youve used that one): 1) In your review it doesnt seem like you covered the max video resolution modes for timelapse, hyperlapse/timeshift, max slow motion and dynamic zoom. According to Hohem's manual it seems like the max video resolution is 1080p60, 4k60, max timelapse resolution is 4k30, max slow motion resolution is 720 8x, and max resolution for dynamic zoom is 1080p30. Is this true? I was trying to compare it to the Flow Pro which has dockkit integration. Both you and I have iPhones so I'm wondering if the Flow Pro would be better because it has higher video resolution modes supported? According to the Flow Pro's documentation it seems like the max timelapse resolution is 4k,60fps, max slow motion is 1080p 240fps, and max dolly zoom is 4k,60fps which are all better than Hohem's iSteady v3 except the hyperlapse/timeshift seems like its max is 4k30 same as Hohem. Wondering if you could corroborate that? Or if you dont have the Flow Pro, if atleast the Hohem iSteady v3 in the app shows the settings I mentioned above. 2) Having said all of that, if you had an iPhone 15 pro max, and had to choose between the Hohem iSteady v3 vs this Insta360 flow pro, which would you choose? The iSteady v3 has a unique remote and more tilt degrees, but seems like its video resolution modes max out at 4k30 for timelapse and max slow motion seems much less than the insta360 pro. The Insta 360 pro has dockkit integration, but lesser tilt degrees (not sure exactly how much tilt vs 30 degrees both ways for the iSteady v3). And if the Flow Pro gets Apple Watch integration through dockkit then it seems like it would have similar remote type abilities like this Hohem. Curious to your thoughts!
There are many indepth reviews of the gimbal and the hohem joy app so I didn't want to extend this video by covering these features in this one. I felt it more important to get over the point that a lot of the reviews of this gimbal did not stress the physical limitations, like the tilt range or the AI sensor in bright sunlight.. I'll check on the video resolutions as well as the new integration of remote camera control nw with Black magic camera app for IOS.
Thanks for one more excellent tutorial! Greetings from Brazil
very Helpful Sir, Thank you.
thanks, Graham. I appreciate that you discuss and review things about products that others don't.
In my opinion a good review should include the positive and not so good features so prospective buyers can have a more informed choice. A lot of the reviews are , in my opinion, biased because the products are supplied free of charge and often instructions are given from the supplier not to mention the negatives of the product.
it worked - thank you very much- i was nearly going to bin the camera
A unique perspective of this newly release gimbal By Hohem. Understand the target market, understand its limitations and how to overcome them.
beltin videos Graham. I've just bought this camera, as I've always use point and click cameras, better watching your videos that trying to read the instructions.
Thank you for all the good work! I would like to ask if there is anything I can use as a zoom control while streaming live using the remote jack on the fz1000? Thank you
Great solution. The fallacy of these teleprompters is, they rarely can ever hang on the end of the lens.
Most valued post and Information. Graham, THANK YOU.
is it possible to control zoom with focus wheel?
Thanks for posting.
not easy to check your color cards with this tool which is not better calibrated than the charts ... in a year even if you calibrate your colorreader you wont' know how correct its readings are. It is still hard decision with a better device and you probably never will buy a calibrated lab device to check your cards in a few months / years) those colormeters would cost ridiculously much money.
hey graham! so i got this camera without any previous knowledge and i know this is abit late but its suuuper dark when i record and i have no idea why. do you think you could help? is it the camera i got or the cameras in itself?
Hi Graham, I'm not going to attempt to build something like this myself. But I do need to go from a line output of a mixer into a mic input. I notice Canford make various XLR attenuators, but would I go with a 200 ohms or a 600 ohms one? (I don't fully understand impedance)
