Follow us on our journey as we learn how to raise meat goats and live the farmlife.
We are located in North Florida a short distance from Jacksonville Fl.
I do as much as I can utilizing friends and family as we construct shelters, fences, pens, general livestock care and anything else we decide is necessary.
We started this journey at the end of 2018 and chose goats to raise as our primary livestock on our 46 acre farm.
Over time we will explore both livestock and agriculture.
We are also in the process of converting a metal prefab building into a custom home as funds become available.
Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
We know we won't do everything right, however we also know we will learn as we go.
We look forward to the journey and where it leads us.

I live about 30 minutes from you , and I actually spray foamed your neighbor or two of your neighbors houses …
Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏼🤠
Enjoyed your video, my wife and I are going to be doing the same thing, i do have a few questions 1 how or what did you use to seal the metal walls or insulate to keep bugs, air and rodent out? 2 your step down shower, did you have to do it that way? 3 why is the 6x6 pole there , what code? Thank you again and good luck with everything
1.Insulation / sealing is closed cell spray foam ceilings and walls. We also used Sika 1A to seal the metal building frame to the concrete. 2. The step down shower seemed a good idea at the time. However, when we installed the tile we ended up filling the step down and went with a level walk in sloped to the drain. 3. The 6x6 pole was required by the county engineer because of the span. According to them giant LVL Beam wasn’t enough. We certainly didn’t want it. 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
Hi! We are near you in the Jax area. Wondering what discount store you mentioned you found some of the materials at. Thank you!
Storehouse Salvage in Pembroke GA is where we go our interior doors. Exterior doors from Norwood Supply in Jax. Also, anytime I could find what I needed on Facebook Marketplace to save some $$ I would grab it. 👍🏼🤠 Thanks for watching and commenting
I'm just putting an electric fence around my garden to keep groundhogs out as one of them finally figured out how to break right through chicken wire. But, when I buy a house in a few years I plan to wrap most of the property in an electric fence. Your series has been great! Your smile is infectious!
Thank you for the kind words and for watching 👍🏼🤠. Glad we could add value.
Thanks for the video. I am going to install an electric fence around my chicken coop. I had 10 chickens eaten by stray dogs.
Sorry to hear about the attack. Hopefully the electric ⚡️ fence will prevent future issues. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
I sold my house in Florida bought some land in a small town near the smoky mountains, population 4000. Couldn’t be more happier living in my RV right now. I got a RV carport combo shed getting delivered soon. How old is that red paint was wondering how long it stays looking that good it looks brand new.
Sounds awesome. Hope you are enjoying the journey. Took 3 coats of the red paint to get it covered. Currently about 7 years old and still looking great 👍🏼. Went with a high end Sherwin Williams paint and a BIN 123 primer base coat. Hope this information is helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
@@McFallFarms yep thank you sir. And trying to enjoy the journey and take it one day at a time. Can’t handle stress then you can’t handle success 🙏
A question I can't resolve looking through the net: I have a solar charger and need to know how to put washers and wingnut on the two (pos and neg) pegs on the unit. Help. Also, I am grateful for the info on this video.
It would be helpful to see the unit and parts but I assume you are asking if the order is wire then washer then wing-nut which I would say is correct. Or if you have 2 washers then sandwich the wire between the 2 washers. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
Is this a tubular steel building?
Yes it is tubular steel. Thank you for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
Did you get an architect to draw plans, and filed with the building dept? I just bought land in south Florida, and I don’t want to go in debt to build a traditional house. This kind of building is a great alternative.
I pulled drawings and details of of the internet and my county let me submit that for interior build out. The metal building itself cane with engineered drawings which we also submitted. Overall very happy with the results Thank you for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
Excellent information. Thank you.
Hello, great video. I am just north of you doing this myself. Can I ask what windows did you use? My siding is vertical, not horizontal and I am worried about leakage. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day!
We used a standard inexpensive single hung double pane from Home Depot. We had a metal flashing made in a Flat U shape to cover from inside framing to outside framing and siliconed the wine out of it. We framed the openings to have plenty to attach to on all 4 sides. It was definitely challenging especially i stalling after the building was erected. Hope that helps. We also a few years later added a full wrap around porch so absolutely zero chance the windows will ever leak now. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
Enjoyed this video, very informative. I like the fact that you don’t waste time with a lot of talking about things not relevant to your how to videos.
Thanks for the kind words. Have a great weekend 👍🏼🤠
They don’t grow wild it’s comes from the pig eating it and passing the seeds
Absolutely 👍🏼 Thanks for commenting
Did you cut the pennis
❤litten Girls ❤
Wonderful ingenuity! Wondering how you insulated it, dealt with the vapor barrier and dealt with condensation?
We did a 30lb felt paper vapor barrier on the backside of all the metal panels and then 2” of closed cell spray foam. We also installed an hvac system that is multistage with a dehumidifier feature where the unit runs longer at a low speed so it doesn’t fast cycle allowing it to remove moisture and reduce humidity. Thank you for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
How you like that metal house? Any cons?
We are really enjoying it. I will say the metal expands and contracts and can be creaky or noisy particularly in the mornings. Overall you wouldn’t know it isn’t a conventional house once you are inside. Thank for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
Vamo'arriba!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Grandkids are the best help❤
Yes they are 👍🏼🤠
Did you use treated lumber on the floor runners?
Absolutely on the bottom plates
❤ thanks for this
Thank you for this video. I live on the coast of NC and plan to use a steel/metal builidng to transition in a home. I am planning to use a raised slab. Could you let me know what I should expect from a contractor when pouring the appropriate slab for this type of build.
We just did a conventional 4” slab with 12” monolithic footers per metal building manufacturer drawings. We did rough in our plumbing under slab but ran all our electrical overhead 👍🏼🤠
How much 2x4 you need for that size of 30x60
Depends on your layout. Walls and ceiling are 16” on center. We did a double top and bottom plate. We did a drawing and measured and did a takeoff and add 10% to get close.
Love it 😊
Looks like dealing with people?
😂 😂
😂😂
Ah yes. This is normal and a pita. When my goats are gone I’ll get sheep. lol
You may then want to go back to goats. Goats are geniuses compared to sheep. haha
Nice job. Keep it up, and he will be ready to go when he turns 16 lol . I grew up on tractors.
Helmet, teach them safety as well 😢
No doubt However fully strapped in with racing style belt as well as side netting and roll bar going 10mph with a 250lb counterweight. If it was open or a 4 wheeler 💯 would have on a helmet 🪖 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼🤠
A nice bale of long straw?
Beautiful goats happy for you
Beautiful goats!!
When I used to be a licensed animal rescuer, I used to foster horses. At that time, this would have been my diamond ring. I didn't care about jewelry. Hay was what made me happy.
🎉WOW🎉
HUNGRY!!
Borderline HANGRY. 😂
This old giat keeper thinks ...do what works.
'When you're stuck breastfeeding, but you just wanna go out and party' 😂😂
Adorable cute and amazing reminds me of my rabbits and Guinea pigs they love hay ❤❤❤
The excited cough 🤣
❤❤❤❤
What a nice place!
😂😂😂… that guy is great, loves his cows! ❤❤❤
Same
Looks like shit! Clean up the foam and add dirt around the post the drop the cover over your post. That’s some half ass work!
Great work... if the new anvil had a hex hole instead of the hog opening, then you can use this as a driver too😅
Fixing to do the same in Kentucky. What's the best way to figure the pre-plumbing on the slab
I actually have a friend that is a master plumber and he helped me. We wood framed against the steel so the water lines and drain lines came up through the wood and we figured the toilet locations based in the wood frame as well. Hope this helps. 👍🏼🤠
Thank you!
SIKA DOES NOT WORK TRY FAST 2K IT WORKS BETTER
How big is the bottom piece?
If I remember correctly. I made it 18”x18” 3/4” plywood 👍🏼🤠
What if the insulation on the wire is cracked?
I wouldn’t think it would affect anything. You could always just wrap the crack with electrical tape if you’re-concerned. 👍🏼🤠
At what age do you normally wean
Everyone is different. Generally acceptable at 60days when the are eating other than mother. We typically go 90 days or so. 👍🏼🤠
I just sold one that was eating hay and grain at 7 weeks I was just worried because I hadn’t had him completely separated from the mother
Hadnt seen him nursing any either
