Hi mate , as solotrader can I use my rental address for traiding reselling? Or I need landlords promision? Thanks
HMRC won't mind, but we recommend you ask your landlord for permission anyway!
Thanks for your video, could you tell us if you only charge VAT over purchases made in UK only? What if I have a business that sells a digital service to other countries? does it still apply?
Rules need to be followed regarding VAT so we recommend speaking to an Accountant to clarify your circumstances, feel free to reach out for a free service enquiry with one of our team: bit.ly/3ycvJC8
SEVEN MINUTES IN AND STILL NO EXPLANATION OF DIRECTORS LOAN ACCOUNTS . . . forget it.
Tbh the printer is not needed you can just select receipt by email or sms
well done
While the spoken content is really helpful, the screen behind you is really distracting and giving me a headache!
This has been updated for new videos. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey! I've got a question about the barcode scanning. If i scan a barcode, can i simply link the product i scanned to a product that's already in the inventory? Without creating a new one. Cheers
We believe that should be achievable but I recommend contacting Zettle directly to confirm.
I would like to start selling on one of the main platforms and I am not sure what option between sole trader and Ltd is suitable considering that I own properties. Thanks.
For something specific like this we recommend booking in with a member of our Accounts team to discuss: bit.ly/3ycvJC8
God HMRC makes business in UK stupidly complicated. Might as well become an accountant instead of being and entrepreneur
Dont recommend tide bank they are scammers reimbursement they have not done now i will escalate to ombudsman fraud company
Thanks Patrick, I've listened to so many of your videos and they helped me a lot specially for the QuickBooks pro advisor certification which I have just done. I was working as an Amazon seller and now really want to become a bookkeeper. I have just got the QuickBooks pro advisor certification and am studying Xero and the AAT level 2 at the moment. I am trying to get clients through platforms like Bark, especially smaller clients that only use QuickBooks. I am trying hard to get experience. I was in Birmingham a couple of months ago in the accountant and bookkeeping conference AND I REALLY WANTED TO MEET YOU but I missed you. I live in Nottingham so it was close. Any tips would be appreciated and keep inspiring people like me. Wish you the best
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that our videos have been helpful to you, especially with your QuickBooks Pro Advisor certification. Congratulations on achieving that milestone! It's fantastic that you're expanding your skills with Xero and AAT Level 2. Your dedication to gaining experience and finding clients through platforms like Bark is commendable. Keep up the great work! We’re sorry we missed you at the conference in Birmingham, but we're happy to hear you were able to attend. We'll be at Accountex in Manchester at the end of this year and are looking forward to returning to events in Birmingham next year. Hopefully, we can meet in person then! Wishing you all the best on your journey to becoming a bookkeeper. Keep pushing forward, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
Excellent quick video explaining everything you need. Well done
Hi there, thanks for a great video... is this per platform? E.g. I sell personal items on Vinted and eBay. Do I need to declare if I go over 30 items/ £1000 collectively?
Not for personal items!
@@BoffixAccountancy thank you! But if I were to sell for profit across different platforms e.g. vinted and eBay do I need to declare when I hit £1000 or 30 items per platform or collectively across all online selling I'm doing?
@@sthomas783 If you are selling for profit then you need to declare that to HMRC and complete a Self-Assessment Tax Return if you are over £1000 collectivity across any platforms.
Hi Thank you for explaining so clearly. I have a question if you please clarify it. If the private seller already is in a permanent job then what is the Tax situation. What he should do. Does this person also has to wait for 1000 pound threshold or what? Please explain. Secondly what is the procedure to inform Hmrc about your 1000 pound extra income through ebay. Thank you
Please reach out to our Accounting team for a free service enquiry if you need further support: linktr.ee/Boffix You would have to complete a self-assessment tax return for any income over £1000. Some other videos on this channel may explain so check them out!
Love ya confidence mate videos great help x
Tide bank worst service revolut is best.. forget about sinking ship tide bank
Hi 👋, we currently have a few subscriptions (over 100) with GoCardless and wanting to integrate with Quickbooks, however GC mentioned it could cause double payments etc. Do you have my first hand knowledge, if this is a big headache or not please ? Thank you!
Can we use it as a charity where people can choose a charity product and pay ?
I would advise going to Sum Up directly to confirm how to do this properly but we imagine there is a way around it.
I dont get this, You contradict yourself, is it (UK) £1,000 or £1,740 limit ??? No one anywhere seems to know ? some say £1,000 others £1,740 ..I wish someone could say definitively
£1,000 is HMRC's offical limit, so always go by that, the platforms reporting may differ on what their limit is to report to HMRC, hence £1,740.
can you create a menu on here for faster payments so can click
No, this is one of the limitations we found.
Really useful video Aaron for anyone either looking to move to Client Engager or anyone who has just moved across 👌🏻
Love the core values
haha!
A great video!
great video!! Just started with GC and Quickbooks. Very excited to use it as we used ask our Students to set up Standing Orders and you can imagine how much work that took! Interesting though, as when I set up a recurring invoice it doesnt give me the opportunity to set up the 30th of the month - odd as it offers every other day but the 30th ? Also it would be great if you could ask for differing amounts as the last month can sometimes be slightly higher depending on the total course fees for the year? Thanks
Yes, we have also found issues with recurring invoices previously, there is a subscription in the works for QuickBooks Advanced so we look forward to that being the answer in the future.
Will they give data previous to January 1st 2024?
No, it's from then.
Good morning, hope everyone has recovered from Accountex. Great 2 days but my body and mind felt like it had run a marathon
Once u open this company account, u will regret they suddenly block and kick out people & swallow public money , false company. I switch to Monzo
If items were returned after filing of taxes, can you still refund taxes paid?
You will have to put the refund against your current period.
My understanding previously was if you are just flogging your own old clothes and books etc that wasn’t considered a business but if you are going out picking up items specifically to sell then obviously that’s a business and should be declared. So ppl pay income tax then sales tax when they buy the item and HMRC think they can take tax again when it’s flogged secondhand what a joke.
Your initial understanding is correct, nothing has changed in that respect, HMRC is just cracking down on the ones that are businesses that are profiting, should be paying taxes and are avoiding doing so. You can still sell secondhand personal items, that has no effect as you are not profiting.
@@BoffixAccountancy but my understanding is even if I sell only my own old things if it sells for over £1,000 in a year then that will be forwarded to HMRC? I’m only selling private stuff atm but going to transition to proper business in a month or so. Will set up proper business etc.
@@karenoliver825 Yes, HMRC will be informed but you don't need to worry until you are turning a profit or running as a sole trader/business.
Hi, I understand that a company can claim back input tax suffered on goods and services in the six months prior to its VAT registration date. To add these transactions and Input VAT to its first VAT Return do I just make a manual adjustment to boxes 4 and 7?
Yes, you can do!
Do we have any deadlines to pay back the debt from company back to me (borrower)?
It needs to be paid back within 9 months after the year-end!
You need to check out what the guys at OrangeAPE are doing. Their solution is amazing
Thanks for all the info , great Informative video
$$$Square is wayyyy more expensive. Zettle will get the job done for people jus starting out i feel
I simply cannot find an sa302 overview. This is driving me insane.
You can find your Tax overview by logging into HMRC, for a SA302 I would talk to your accountant.
A great summary of the rules and very well explained 👍
How to change phone number on receipt. Thanks
You have to go into your settings on the browser :)
Can you print 2 copied of receipt
Yes, you can!
I have to solo + printer here, absolute garbage, both printers are sometimes working sometimes not
great informative video, thanks!
Sure! Here's a revised version: Hey there! thank you for this useful video. Right now, I use GoCardless for handling recurring payments from my clients. I'm thinking about linking QuickBooks with GoCardless to create invoices. However, I'm curious about how QuickBooks handles one-off payments. Can QuickBooks send an email to clients detailing the GoCardless payment method for them to make a payment? Alternatively, is there a way to process one-off payments through QuickBooks and send clients an invoice?
great product - enjoying the capture, think it's great - especially for clients.
how do you use zapier to send DD sign up? & have you created the proposal email template yourself, or is there any website I can use to get different email templates?
You can't anymore, this is now outdated I'm afraid!
Can I take remote payments over the phone?
No you need to be logged in!
But most stock/business supplies are bought from VAT registered company or imported (VAT charged upon entering UK)
Yes but not for resellers which this video is aimed at :)
@@BoffixAccountancy I see! Thanks!
Thanks for this. If you have £125k on DLA at 31/12/22 year end and a dividend is declared on 31/03/23 and settled against this, would there be any tax consequences except the tax on dividends? Appreciate your reply
There shouldn't be any tax consequence but you need to declare on the CT600A form to be compliant.
Am I correct in recording car MOT tests as 'No VAT' rather than exempt? As I understand it MOTs are outside of the scope of VAT and thus should be categorised as No VAT rather than exempt? Love the channel & would be grateful for your input :)
MOT's are no VAT!
I have retired and receive a full state pension. I need though to generate the equivalent again to live more comfortably as I have no additional pension income. So, I was wondering how to tackle this as I have just set up a LTD company and believe that I can work around much of this with the 8.5% tax rule on dividends which can then apply to my whole income?
I would recommend speaking with an Accountant to find the best solution for you. You can get in touch with our team here for a free service enquiry: bit.ly/3ycvJC8
If the accoutant completes the SA100, Can you then log into your HMRC portal and download it from there once completed, instead of the accountant ?? thanks
No, not if they do it through a third-party software.
